Centre Line
The freezer needed defrosting. Chris planned it like he were planning a war, which he sort of was.
"I dunno how you tell that stuff," Shawn said, staring at himself in the mirror and poking thoughtfully at his hair.
"Just take Mark and Rick out for the day tomorrow," Chris said, kicking at the frayed carpet. "It takes forever." Shawn shrugged.
"I always take them out on Saturdays. Matter of fact, I'm not that happy leaving you here." He turned away from the mirror and fixed his brother with a level stare.
"If it doesn't get done, the freezer stops working," Chris told him. "I have to do this, and soon." Shawn frowned, but nodded.
"What happens to the food?" he asked, turning back to the mirror but looking at his brother's reflection rather than his own.
"We eat some of it now and the rest we put in the fridge and hope it doesn't melt too quick. I'm hoping Steve will give me a hand." Shawn snorted, and gave his hair a final poke.
"Well, I'll take the kids out of your way but I don't think you've got a hope in hell of getting Steve to help." Satisfied with his looks, Shawn reached for his jacket.
"We can tell him it's art," Chris said hopefully. "We can tell him it's one of those life skills that attracts women."
"Steve needs no help in that department," Shawn said. "And he'll never buy the art thing. Or, if he does, he'll want to sit and draw the ice as it melts."
"He can draw the ice as it melts as long as he helps me speed up the process by sticking bowls of boiling water in there." Chris said. "I think he'll help a bit."
Steve did help a bit, until his current girl phoned and he decided he had better things to do with his Saturday (i.e. get laid) than defrost the freezer in silence to avoid disturbing their father. Chris finished it himself, without bloodshed.
Digimon
Slightly AU - I know that Matt and TK didn't live together but...I needed them to, so.
TK thought Tai was awesome. After they left the Digital world, it was so cool that Tai kept coming around. Matt seemed to have mellowed towards him too - though Tai was always nice to TK, it was really Matt he came to see. TK would come home from school to find them lycing on the floor playing computer games, laughing and shoving at each other.
One day, he came home to find them kissing.
He didn't speak to Matt for two weeks and never told him why.

Temeraire limericks
Two main characters and one of my favourites. Thanks to gumbie_cat for beta! Spoilers for book 4.
There was a young sailor called Will,
Found a rather odd duty to fill.
His dragon was rare,
They made a good pair
But his country still wanted them killed.
There was a young dragon from China,
A rather spectacular flyer
His thinking was hot,
Pragmatic, twas not
Went from frying pan into the fire.
There was a young woman called Cath
Who was quite an unusual lass,
Her dragon, called Lily,
Could be a bit silly,
But she came through all right at the last.
