As usual, none of these are mine, I make no money from it and this is all just for fun. These three are all rated gen.

Digimon
"Look Tai, a caterpillar!” TK squealed, pointing excitedly towards the small, furry insects on the stem of the flower. Matt bristled.

"Cool!” said Tai enthusiastically. „What kind do you think they are?”

"There are different kinds?” TK looked confused, and amazed.

"As many different kinds as there are butterflies,” Tai promised.

"Wow, really?” Matt crossed his arms across his chest and stared moodily in the other direction.

"Why does the Digiworld have real animals?" Mimi wondered.

"Why not?” Izzy answered. "It should be as accurate as possible, after all, and butterflies are useful for the propagation of flowers.”

"Why don’t you show the caterpillars to Matt?” Tai suggested, with an uneasy glance at the thunderous expression on Matt’s face, and the way that the other boy had drifted away from the group slightly and was staring off into the distance.

"Matt, Matt!” TK bounced over to his older brother and grabbed him by the hand. "Come and see the caterpillars!” Matt smiled down at his brother and allowed himself to be dragged over to inspect the caterpillars.

"Those are great!” he said. Not to be outdone, he quickly added, „"nd just think, one day they’ll turn into chyrysalids and become butterflies. How cool is that?”

"Totally cool,” said TK, carefully prising a caterpillar from the leaf and holding it up his eyes. Matt crouched down to look at it, grinning at his brother’s rapt expression.

"You can bring it with you if you like,” he said.

"Oh wow!” TK grinned.

"I’m not sure that’s the best idea,” Sora said. "What if we can’t find anything else for it to eat?”

"Maybe you’re right,” said TK, putting it carefully back where he’d found it and then slipping his hand through Matt’s. Matt smiled, darting a triumphant look at Tai, and prepared to talk for a long time about butterflies.

Famous Five

Whenever Dick stopped to think about it, he felt that he got rather a rotten deal, really. Julian was the oldest, and he got to tell everyone what to do. Anne was the youngest, and a girl, so everyone looked after her but there he was, stuck in the middle.

When they went to stay with George, it was actually worse because George somehow managed to be just as much a boy as Julian while still helping Anne with the girly stuff. Dick wouldn’t have minding being left to help Anne set out the picnic while Julian and George went off to explore or get water or something, but it never quite worked out like that, as though George had taken all the best bits of being a boy and all the best bits of being a girl and left Dick to put up with whatever was left over.

He supposed that it could be worse, but when he watched the others all working together, he wasn’t actually quite sure how.

The Lion King

Italics are lyrics from songs from the film. And that's not a typo, when I listen to the song I always think it's a bad pun so that's how I've chosen to type it.

I'm gonna be the mane event like no king was before

Simba stared intently at the water, looking past the reflection of a betweixt-and-between adolescent and into the murky depths where, moments before, he’d seen a flicker of silver.

“Whatcha doin’?” Pumba grunted.

“Fishing,” Simba answered, not taking his eyes from the water. “Keep quiet.”

“What’s fishing?” asked Pumba loudly, and Simba growled softly.

“Hey, fellas!” Timon yelled. “What’s goin’ on?” Simba sat back with a sigh.

“Nothin’,” he answered, staring out across the water. He supposed he was learning, getting a new life. It was just a shame that his new life couldn’t have included fishing. He was getting rather tired of eating bugs.
