Extra Notes: Sorry for spamming your f-lists, but I realised that I was like 5 fics behind. D: This is AU, because I gave Warren some sense.
Trio of geniuses they might be -it was originally going to be a trio of evil geniuses, but since it was better in the short term to be allied with the Slayer and not against her, they decided not to be evil- but they didn't know anything about fighting a horde of vampires.
The last time Andrew saw Warren, he had managed to get to the flamethrower. There was fire and the smell of burning flesh, but there were too many of them. The flame would eventually die out and he would die. And it would be better if he -well, all of them, really- stayed dead.
The flame dies.
So does Warren.
And the next time Andrew wakes up, he's in a hospital with Xander watching him. Ready to tell him that he's the only survivor of his group. Trying to commiserate with him, even though he knows nothing of what it's been like for Andrew.
Right now, he hates Xander most of all.
Just because his friends haven't all died.
Because no-one came to their rescue.
Because he's pretending to care.

They were the last three sane people on the island and their plan was going to work.
They were going to escape. All three of them. Shinji promised that, and he always kept his promises. Yutaka finished making his last bomb and nodded at Keita, who grinned and winked back. They were going to live. The rest of their lives wouldn't be normal, or easy, or even fair.
But they would be together. That was two better than this game would give.
And that was all that mattered.
