Title: The Dogcatcher
Fandom: Undertale/Earthbound
Characters/Pairings: Chara, Giygas
Rating: 15
Tags: creepy, deaths, fourth wall issues, AU (annoying dog is deity of both worlds)
Word count: 142
Summary: It had been an anti piracy measure that took his soul.

It was an anti piracy measure that took his soul. Hadn't even been using pirated software, just old, with a worn out copy protection chip. The nightmare things that came for him were swirling strands of crimson light, writhing with static as they damaged existence simply by being there. A psychic essence too powerful, too wild, too large to be contained in such a small scale dimension.

Red for determination. He had been so vital. Now he still was, empty though he seemed. He had plenty of souls, none of them his own. He had persisted for a long time.

The strands had been as red as the blood dripping down the knife when he killed again and again until he lured out the one who had done this to him, who had made this thing, and took it's soul as compensation.

Title: Chasing Phantoms
Fandom: Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Characters/Pairings: Reinhard von Lohengramm/Siegfried Kircheis
Rating: 15
Tags: spoilers, character deaths. angst
Word count: 158
Summary: It took a death to make him remember what was important in life, what he fought for.

As usual, he had to come up with a flawless strategy pretty much yesterday, but it was hard these days when his mind was firmly entrenched in the past. Chasing ghosts. The ghosts of those he didn't even know he loved until it was too late. He had been aware that Siegfried Kircheis was someone special to him, more valuable than his other friends somehow, maybe more like family. It had taken him the kind of strength to break every taboo in this crumbling old Empire, one he intended to completely overhaul when he finally ran it, to realise that he had been truly in love with his best friend.

He had been wondering what to fight for with his sister safe and his muse in battle gone. Now he realised: muses didn't leave their post, didn't truly die, and neither did a love that strong.

Besides, he didn't know for certain that his sister was completely safe…

Title: To Capture the Heart
Fandom: Dragon Force
Characters/Pairings: Goldark & Gongos, Goldark/Lyria, Gongos/Teiris
Rating: PG-13
Tags: spoilers, humour
Word count: 422
Summary: Gongos wants relationship advice from Goldark, of all people.

Upon hearing his name roared by a large male Beastman at the top of his voice, Emperor Goldark of Fandaria gripped his shortswords and began focusing his chi. Gongos didn't sound angry but it was difficult to tell with the people of Bozack and even if he wasn't, he might just want a fight out of boredom.

"What is it?" he sighed, glaring in the hope of expressing his irritation at being interrupted to the man who had all the emotional intelligence of a five-year-old.

"You will give Gongos romantic advice! He has tried everything and nothing works! Yes!" the Beast King swiped empty air with his great-axe in distaste.

Goldark was almost lost for words, "You... think I am a suitable person to help you with your love life?"

"The Mad Emperor captures the hearts of all with his dark charisma, like vampire lord! Yes!" Gongos roared, waving his axe, "He has even seduced a nun of Astea!"

"A nun of... you mean Lyria? I think you've misinterpreted a few things. We've known each other since childhood. She is a loyal retainer and is like a sister to me."

"No mis... missy..." Gongos' brow beetled, then he gave up trying to pronounce the unfamiliar word and snarled instead, "Gongos has seen how she looks at you! especially when she thinks you are not looking! Gongos has eyes like wolf, sees ALL!"

Goldark winced as he thumped both hands on the table, "Well, be that as it may, Teiris is not Lyria. This is about Teiris, yes?"

"Who else would possibly be fit for the Gallant Man of the Forest?"

"Of course, how stupid of me," Goldark sighed and shook his head, "The thing is, Gongos, love is a little like war. You have to make your strategy fit the enemy. Or, better still, force the enemy to fit in with a plan where you already have more control."

"Gongos no understand, but is happy to learn from a master! Yes!"

Goldark sighed. The Beastman really was like a child at times. He had started chattering about how many babies he wanted and what he would call them all, having apparently decided what gender they were already. Why on Legendra did Gongos think he was an expert at this? If what the Bozack King said about Lyria was true, Goldark couldn't even take his own advice and had fallen into a very, very lethal ambush.

If Lyria made the next move, he wasn't sure his heart had any defences left at all.
