“Sherlock, what are you doing?”
Sometimes, Joan thought that she should just get those words tattooed on her forehead and point at them on a regular basis. Sherlock would probably still stare at her with those wide eyes of his, not quite behaving as though she was saying something stupid, but nearly.
“Ah, Watson,” he said now. “I’m testing just how long it takes for this brand of hair dye to wear off skin if incorrectly applied.”
“Right,” Joan said. “On yourself.”
“Yes.”
“Your hands are bright blue, Sherlock.”
“Yes,” Sherlock said. “So far, it is showing remarkable staying power despite my numerous attempts to clean it off. I think I might try peroxide next.”
Joan decided to leave the room.
