Summary: Joe tries to stop Gomamon eating everything in the house.
“So what do these taste like?” Gomamon asked.
“I don’t know!” Joe hissed, grabbing the jar that his Digimon was holding. “Stop it, would you? I need to get you out of the kitchen!”
“But Joe, I’m still hungry!” Gomamon pouted. “If I don’t eat, I can’t Digivolve!”
“You’ve eaten already!” Joe growled. “You’ve eaten pizza and left-over rice and a load of sweets! You can’t still be hungry!
This was a pretty stupid thing to say to a Digimon. Digimon were always still hungry and Joe was learning this. Gomamon gave him a tragic look and continued to rummage in the fridge. Joe wondered when his parents were due back. Just thinking about them catching Gomamon made his chest tighten slightly. Not something he wanted to explain.
“Gomamon, can you please come into my bedroom now?” he hissed. “I can get you more food later! It won’t go away!”
“It will if another Digimon finds it!” Gomamon said happily. “Hey, what’s this stuff?”
“I don’t know,” Joe said without looking around. He heard a rustling and snuffling and knew Gomamon was investigating. There was a chomping noise, a pause and then Gomamon wailed and threw himself out of the fridge.
“HOT!” he squealed. “HOT, HOT, HOT!”
He leapt into the sink and fumbled with the tap while Joe when to investigate. He discovered with some amusement that Gomamon had discovered one of his mother’s very hot curries that been put away. Trying not to smirk, Joe recovered the dish and then headed over the sink where Gomamon was currently swallowing buckets of water and looking tragic.
“That’s what happens when you’re greedy,” he said.
“Oh shut up,” Gomamon mumbled.
