01 - Waiting Period; Link/Zelda, Legend of Zelda, T.09 [here and now]

Summary: ‘It would only take time before Link and Zelda could be lost to one another one last time, and then be free.’
Other: Just a really quick write here. Nothing special. Also, not really tied to any specific game. You decide where to place it, if anywhere. XD If you have anything you want to say, feel free. :D Critism, compliment, whatever. Love it all.
Also, kinda cheesy. I live for angst. XD
Will have another post here really quick. Or within five minutes I should say. Wrote two to post. :D
The morning light would bring soft shadows to their bed, but not wake the slumbering hearts within for a short passage of time. It would be gentle stirring within the covers that would arise one, and a kiss on the forehead to awaken the other. It would be quiet, and peaceful, both still hiding beneath the folds of fabric to chase off the morning chill.
They would lie there awhile, not contemplating much but themselves for one last time before they were rudely brought back into the reality of the world. There would be whispers between the lovers, promises repeated, and faint caresses to reassure some unspoken arrangement.
But the mood would be silent, the mood faint and still, as if treading on almost broken glass. It would be loving, but careful. Both would soon awaken to the world again, but they’d keep their minds lingering just a moment longer; thinking of the time they let themselves be one for just one night.
For they both had their duties, they knew. Both had to go back out into the world, and keep the façade running just a little while longer until it could be safe to release.
One, he would keep saving the people as a hero. The other, she would keep saving the people as a queen. It would be bitter and unending to think back to other silent nights, a shield separating them both. It would be hard not to think back to this night, when they were only entangled within the other, not the matters of state or the duties of a knight.
It would only be their own in both their minds, as they finally shed the covers off and rejoined the awaiting world. It would only take time before Link and Zelda could be lost to one another one last time, and then be free.
