In the Cat House, Meow.

Sung to the tune of "In The Jailhouse Now" as performed by Tim Blake Nelson (Delmar O'Donnell)

I had a cat named Snach A McAw,
Who used to hiss, bite and claw,
He thought he was the meanest cat around,

But I found out last Monday,
That the net caught Snach last Sunday,
They've got him in the pound way down town!

He's in the cat house, meow,
He's in the cat house, meeeeeeow,
I'd scold him once or twice, "Quit sniffn' nip and chasing mice!”
He's in the cat house, meow!

Yodel...

He used to tease a rot on a choker,
Promenade before and stoke her,
And to all the labs and pits he'd do the same.

So he was packed in side a cell,
Without enough room for his tail,
And got drooled on by every dog that left or came.

He's in the cat house, meow,
He's in the cat house, meeeeeeow,
I'd scold him once or twice, "quit sniffn' nip and chasing mice!”
He's in the cat house, meow!

He met a mynx named Tootles,
They ate gopher and turkey strudels,
Then the two of them started to groom around.

He licked and combed her whiskers,
Gave her lice, fleas, ticks, and chiggers.
Then she spread them to every tom cat here in town!

They're in the cat house, meow,
They're in the cat house, meeeeeeow,
They're both crammed in the same a cell,
Charged with traffick'n bugs and chase'n tail.
They're in the cat house, meow!

Yodel...

I love "O Brother Where Art Thou." The music is great, too. While the main Soggy Bottom Boys song (I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow) was sung by professionals, Tim Blake Nelson did actually sing "In the Jailhouse Now" and Chris Thomas King (an actual blues muscian) portrayed Tommy Johnson and performed the sensually soulful "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues."
