Life status of the 403

Mar 05, 2009 20:44

I've gotten really sick of minimal-preparation food, since last time I simultaneously had time and energy to clean the kitchen. That was about a month ago. I've been using paper plates and plastic silverware for somewhere between one and two weeks, and the environmental unfriendliness of that bothers me.

In theory, I have time to deal with the kitchen now. But after being on my feet continuously for 6h of chemlab (chairs and stools are considered a tripping hazard) I ache almost literally everywhere, so it isn't going to get done. If I can persuade myself to get up, I may have a hot shower instead.

Which leads to the next important item.. my being critically short of clean laundry. I may have run out of socks today, but will have to search around to be sure. It's virtually certain that that won't get done until Sunday at the earliest (but more probably Monday or Tuesday).

It's easy to guess that if the previous two more important items aren't getting done, the state of my apartment has deteriorated from it's normal "untidy" status, to what could charitably be described as a "sea of chaos".

All of this is ironic in the extreme. Because I was actually able to manage my life better when I was working full-time and going to school part-time, than I am as a full-time student. (To be fair, I hated that job and its mind-numbing boredom. But I also didn't need to spend most of my "free" time recovering from it.)

Fortunately, spring break is next week, and I should be able to dig myself at least part of the way out of this hole.
