So I got back from looking at houses yesterday, and my neighbor was outside, and I said "You're leaving?" and she said, "Yeah...aren't you glad?" LOL. I was trying to be nice, so I said, "Nooo, why would I be glad?" And she said, "I can imagine how I've annoyed you all this time and how loud we've been" yada yada yada. I was still trying to be nice, but on the inside I was like, "If you knew you were being loud, why didn't you just be quiet!?" Ya know? Anyway, turns out she's buying a house and trying to move within the month. Good for her...I'm glad she's finally getting a better place for her kids.
So anyways, I went to look at three houses yesterday. One had had its living room decorated by Trading Spaces! Who knew they would come to Clemmons? They did a good job, but the house itself was way cramped, and next to a main road, and didn't have a great view out of the windows, so I scratched that one off the list.
The third one was pretty cool. It had a basement garage, big screened porch in the back, and a HUGE master bathroom. But we saw some problems...you could see the kitchen floor was sloping a little bit, there was some water damage and cracks in the basement, and the laundry was in the basement so you'd have to climb up two flights of stairs to get it done and I'm not crazy about that. I'm a little wary about basements now, seeing that they could have moisture problems, so I scratched that one off too.
The one I saw second was the one that Stephen and I absolutely fell in love with (and the one I was REALLY wanting to see anyway). Big farm-style house, about 10 years old, on a cul-de-sac, huge back yard and a view of the woods, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a bonus room, HUGE living room, nice fireplace, 1-car garage, laminate wood floors downstairs. It was great! I want to make an offer for it, but not sure how much it should be. My agent's going to help me figure it out and hopefully I can start making an offer tomorrow! We'll see. I'm pretty excited.
Bad news...I had to take Pepper to the emergency vet last night. We were at Stephen's and had Chinese delivered to the apartment. When Ryan went to pay the guy, Pepper bolted out the door (first time she's ever done this) and ran outside (first time she's ever been outside!). We hunted her down for about 10 minutes, trying to find her. She kept running back and forth through the bushes. We finally caught her and brought her inside, but I noticed that there was something wrong with her mouth because she wasn't closing it. I looked and saw that her jaw was out of alignment! We took her to the "emergency room" and had to leave her overnight so they could take x-rays and make sure she didn't have a fracture. She didn't, and the popped her jaw back into place. Poor little girl! She has to wear a muzzle (one of those cone things around her head and tape around her mouth) for at least two weeks, and I have to feed her wet food and painkillers through a syringe every day. She has definitely been through a lot the past several hours. Poor little girl.
