I have called everyone from the police (no animal control!) to the health department ("All we can do is make sure they have their rabies shots!") to a humane society in Atlanta about the cats in the neighborhood. They're like walking roadkill. They are suffering and spreading diseases and no one can help. I can't afford to take them to the vet,

So so sad. I think the mountains towns are prettier at times (i LOVE Curuso) but the lack of laws and regulations is what will keep me from moving from Asheville into one of them. I would be the owner of feral cats if i was you and put food and fresh water out for them. I know that's wrong, but it's so sad!
