Stellar's Random Thoughts for the Day:

- Traffic Light Etiquette demands that after hammering away at the button, you step away from the post so that other people might also have the opportunity to hammer the button in an effort to communicate their own urgency to the crossing timer.

- The Mac store embodies my chief grievance with Macs in general; that wonderfully sleek, ultra-modern design comes at the expense of ease-of-use. The city's Mac store has frosted glass panels for stairs, with bright floor lights shining up underneath. The edge of each step is marked only by a change in the tone of the frosting, but no textural shift. If you do not see why this made them difficult for me to use, then clearly we don't speak enough.

- I love that I recognized the music store not by sound - as I expected to - or by sight - I was beginning to suspect that I was lost at the time - but by smell; the smell of fresh sheet music. It's a difference in the quality of the paper, I think. All old paper smells the same, like an old library. But new books printed in Australia smell different to new books printed in the U.S. The paper is different. Books of sheet music are a different kind of paper and a different smell again. Lord knows I've spent enough time with new sheet music to know the smell, but I never realized I had learned it until I recognized it today.

I am too tired to write more.
