energy usage
so far, since getting my new heat pump installed, i've seen approx. 20% reduction in my electricity usage. but it's also been pretty mild weather, so i don't know if it's really related. the big questions will be, how much difference is there in dec-feb, which are traditionally, my highest electricity usage months.
dec. 2008: 1856 kWh
jan. 2009: 2059 kWh
feb. 2009: 1641 kWh
we shall see how it goes this winter....it would be really nice if those numbers are cut significantly.
when i got my new windows, i saw a reduction, but that pretty much went away as my old heat pump got more and more broken. i should find the numbers from right after my windows were installed to see if my energy usage this winter is any better than then....
ETA: i found my dec. 2006 energy usage, which was the first december after the new windows:
dec. 2006: 994 kWh
yikes...twice as much as almost as last december. hopefully this year it will be back down again....
