Last week I managed to skate twice, once on Tuesday, for about an hour and again on Friday for an hour, with a lesson from DavidBowie. I really feel like I have seriously regressed in the last year. On some levels that's not true - my FO mohawk, while still dreadful, is at least dreadfully consistent now, and I'm more secure on the ice in general. But my stamina, power, and overall feelings of grace are pretty much gone.
I am defending my MA thesis on Friday, so I will miss my regular Friday lesson, but after that, I plan to hit the ice regularly 2-3x a week, and to really start plugging away again at moves in the field. I've worked too hard for something like 3 years before this last year, and I don't want to let my skating skills or fitness deteriorate any further. Time to get back in the saddle and go to it!
