Of course Manic's morning was not going to be the usual morning. For as he was restocking the music selection while listening to the CD, there was a very loud 'THUD' behind him. Laying there on the ground was suddenly a black and red hedgehog, his eyes closed, and his chest just barely moving. He seemed to be alive but unconscious.
Manic jumped with a yelp at the thud instinctively ducking behind a display and peering out. The black hedgehog wasn't anyone he knew and two reactions happened simultaneously; concern over this new guy, and worry he'd fallen through the roof.
Stooping in front of him, Manic ran a hand through his spikes. "Hey, you gonna live there bud?"
The black and red hedgehog stirred at those words, groaning as he pushed himself up onto hands and knees. Red eyes opened and looked up at Manic with a confused look in his eyes.
Manic stopped talking because the only reason some strange hedgehog would appear in his shop nd not know where he was was if he'd literally just arrived.
"I didn't sign-up for a greeting job but...this is Paradise. Well, it's a city called Paradise anyway."
"I can't tell you much since not many of us know," Manic said. "It pretty much goes that whatever god runs our world dropped us here for its entry in whatever game they're playing and its the only way to get home too."
Manic spotted a 3STP on the counter and moved to get it. "It's a pretty normal city besides the occasional weirdness. Here, catch."
Shadow caught the 3STP easily and looked at it with a critical eye. Images flashed through his mind, something similar was on his wrist once upon a time? He shook his head and looked up at Manic again.
"Good luck with that," Manic said, drumming his fingers on the counter. This guy seemed like the type to be careful not to rub the wrong way. "It's not like we see them around."

"Well, that's what they call it anyway. Just a big city that's part of some god game though."

"God Game? Tell me about this game."

"I am no toy. I am the Ultimate Life Form."

Manic wasn't trying to sound uncaring, but that was how it was. It didn't matter who they were or what they were doing, they were here.

"This is ridiculous. I know nothing of the god of my world. Why choose me?"

"How can you have been here twice?"

A hand moved to rest over his medallion. "Then someone I knew here died and it all came back like I was never gone."
