There were some things still beyond RED's control, even in an area where he had a certain degree of expertise: dents he couldn't get out of the metal without the proper tools, scratches along the once-pristine barrel, a screw possibly missing here or there. While he kept a few spare bits in his pockets for emergency purposes- a habit he'd picked up spending months at a time in the bush- there was only so much he could do. He resolved to be happy enough if he could at least get the gun in firing order ( ... )

The BLU headed to where he had caught the glimpse of the RED marksman earlier. He didn't expect him to be there, the man had too much sense to just go back to where he had been spotted before, but at least it would be a start. Approaching the area BLU almost smirked, Pyro really had taken the tree down with RED in it. That woman sure was tenacious when she was determined about something. Of course it hadn't really gone in her favor this time. He stood next to the tree taking in the scene, a small pool of blood near the base where Pyro had probably been struck, and a few smaller droplets of blood that BLU reasoned had come from the other Sniper when he had crashed out of the tree ( ... )

RED tightened another screw into place before hearing something behind him- though faint, the sound of grass being pressed into the ground by footsteps was distinctive enough. He'd been out there for hours and had yet to see any sign of big game; he reasoned the chances were whatever was stalking him was likely human. He had a feeling who it would be, given his limited options ( ... )

BLU had gotten close, closer than he thought he would have been able to against another Sniper. It didn't seem as though the other man had spotted him but he was wary, he would have tried to play it off if he was in RED's shoes. For a moment he paused, listening to the sounds of the other man fiddling with the gun, with his gun. His grip on the kukri tightened and he almost rushed him. But that was acting without thinking, and even as angry as he was right now, he could see that it would get him nowhere to just launch himself into an attack right away. Especially since he was injured and the RED was not. The BLU's only advantage right now was that the other man hadn't noticed him ( ... )
