1. My cat is convinced that, when I stand at the kitchen counter snacking on almonds, I am actually snarfing down her Greenies. Offering her one, or showing her the can of not-cat-treats, is unconvincing. Piteous cries of feline deprivation ensue until she has her own crunchy treats to munch on.
2. Re #1: It's possible she's found a clever way to get me to give her cat treats for being obnoxious, instead of being rewarded for putting up with manicures and stick-on nails.
3. Can we all agree that skinny jeans are just a bad idea? One's choices are a) looking like one is recovering from a deathly illness that has melted all the flesh from one's bones or b) looking like one of Snow White's dwarfs on stilts.
4. "Dwarfs" or "dwarves"? I seem to recall some article about Tolkien mucking around with it, but I forget which way it came out. Maybe Tolkien-esque stuff is "dwarves" so that he could use the adjective "dwarvish". And "elvish". I think that's right.
5. China Palace in Novato, CA, has the *best scallops EVAR*. It's like the chef was showing the scallops a candle and explaining to them about heat and then sent them out on a serving platter. :D Compared to these delicate little beauties, the previous best scallops are tough and stringy. The Hunan shrimp is pretty dang good too. Service is good, prices are comparable, and I haven't had a bad dish there. (Jennie Lo's waitstaff (also Novato), on the other hand, seem to constantly be standing over you, saying, "Are you ready yet? How about now? Now? Hurry UP!") I think China Palace might have been an IHOP in a former life, though, since the Chinese restaurant decor is layered on what appears to be a Swiss chalet.
