Their Misson: To assist brain tumor patients and their families in managing the physical, emotional and social challenges presented by the illness.
"The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation was inspired by Tim Gullikson, a former ATP Tour champion and coach of such notable players as Pete Sampras and Martina Navratilova. While coaching Sampras, Tim was diagnosed with brain tumors. Tim was deluged with support from family and friends, but became deeply concerned about the level of care and support for other patients and caregivers. He was convinced that programs that embraced the principles that made him a world-class competitor and coach, would also give support to patients and families who sought to enhance quality of life in the battle against brain tumors. On that hopeful and helpful premise, Tim and his twin brother Tom, formed the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation in 1995. Although Tim lost his battle with the disease the following year, his Foundation continues to grow. It builds programs that visualize success, lend a hand, and make today and tomorrow better for those who face brain tumors."
