I didn't want to post about this on my LJ, cause I thought it's not an interesting topic for ye, my friends.
But I need to vent.
It's humiliating how my country is being buried underneath a landslide of sh*t due to one man, who deserves to self-combust out of existence.
I'm angry and sad and hurt, hurt, hurt.
I can't believe my glorious Country's being hit by such a disgrace in the year when we should be celebrating 150 years of unity and independence. There are countries which are struggling with more serious problems, I know, but at least they have dignity. The whole World laughs at us and even Martians are snickering. While thousands of graduates are leaving the country, while one young person on five doesn't work neither studies, while our cultural heritage - which is in most cases World Heritage - is washed away by rainstorms, we've got to deal with
THIS!
I read a comment about that article, by a guy from NY: "He's well liked in Italy. We can easily guess what general population are there. Leaders are just representative of its voters!"
I know it's a very superficial comment. But it's still depressing.
I don't identify with this Italy, but still I love my Country to pieces, so much I'm often moved by its history and beauty. Maybe I'm being over-dramatic, but this public humiliation makes me feel close to heartbroken.
Better to focus on the good that's left. Fratelli d'Italia...
