Video geeks? "Star Trek: IMAX" is showing in theaters with either "IMAX" or "IMAX 3D" formats. I do not believe "Star Trek" was not filmed to take advantage of the 3D theaters, but they are newer? I am curious -- which theater technology would you prefer for this movie, given all other factors being essentially equal?

I intend to see "Star Trek" in IMAX tomorrow (having just seen it on this past Sunday) and am considering either the Airbus IMAX Theater in Chantilly, VA (out by Dulles Airport, offering straight IMAX) or the AMC Hoffman Center 22 in Alexandria, which features IMAX 3D.

After googling around and trying to learn more about the technology, etc., I have found information about both formats, but the IMAX 3D (as opposed to straight digital 3D) really is intended for movies FILMED in 3D (like "Beowulf").

Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? I appreciate any help I can get here.
