Working Girl
So despite the fact that I have to get up at like 5:45 for work tomorrow I think it's time for another chapter in the endless "catching up" status of my LiveJournal.
So my new job is pretty sweet. I watched a girl on Monday just to get the general jist of things then Tuesday through Friday I was trained by the guy who's exact position I am taking. It was a lot of fun and he was very helpful. It was pretty much me and three guys sitting around in our lil office all week, I was learning a lot but also helping out with a lot of crossword puzzles, talking about the Cubs, and witnessing a "ball and shelf" tournament. I was pretty much set free on like Wednesday to try and do all the work by myself and I pretty much did aside from some random questions. Ryan, the guy who was training me was pretty much hands off from that day on and he said it was because I already knew how to do the job and that the rest was just picking up the details and terminology. It was nice to hear such encouragement. Apparently the last girl that they had in there sucked something fierce, could barely even type! And I'm not one to complain about being shoved into a room of boys either. One of them actually graduated from Iowa the same year I did, same exact major and everything, I'm sure I saw him around campus all the time... just ironic how small of a city Chicago can really be at times! I'm looking forward to the newness wearing off but I think I'm well on my way already so that's a good sign that I'm already feeling comfortable in the place. So many people my age, such a relaxed environment too, I <3 wearing jeans to work!
Buuuut, I better get to bed.... and get excited everyone because tomorrows topic? The Boy.
