my car gave me a great 21st birthday present...
see subject... the battery died. yep... was about to leave Jackie's house, turned the key and the engine didn't turn over, and the lights dimmed. nice. However I am forever grateful to her and her dad for helping me out, jumping the battery with Jackie's car... and then following me back up to campus to make sure I didn't stall out somewhere along the way. For them its 23 miles each way... I can never thank them enough. The way I can joke about it is, my car thought I would be drinking... kind of like that commercial for, I think, Smirnoff... where the guy arrives at a party and pops his tires to make sure he doesn't drive. Anyway... I type this as I wait for AAA to call me back to say that the battery service has arrived to pop a new one in. In other news... my birthday was wonderful.. up until the battery problem... which then made it just interesting... and will definitely be the most memorable of the 21 I've had: IHOP with Chris; Cheesecake Factory... blindfold... new baseball glove.. Knights game.. cuddles... spontaneous dancing in the street... with Jackie; and love from all of my great friends. Yep... just waiting for AAA to call back.. should be by 5:57 the dispatcher said.. it's 5:39, they have 18 minutes.
