Why I Love my job....
I love being able to be myself. This is the first job I have had in an organization that recognizes Gretchen as my spouse, and has orientation and gender non-discrim policies. Yes, the girls I work with are mostly annoying (and some have issues with how out I am), but I know that I am on a labor floor as a butch for a reason (I believe in the greater things happen for a reason mentality). When a lesbian couple comes in, they immediately know I am "family." I do not have to come out.
Monday am, I had an older couple come in, and the partner was over-joyed with my presence as a butch with the experience of being the non-birthing partner. She called me a "comrad."
