Closing Statements + Reveals
So first things first-- a big, BIG thank you to everyone who participated in this exchange. It started out as a spur-of-the-moment idea, but quickly developed into something that a lot of people were looking forward to. Whether you signed up as a beta, a pinch-hitter, or as a participant, this wouldn’t have been possible without your cooperation.
Mod isn’t wonderwoman and had lots of help from lots of people. Firstly, thank you to hokaidos for helping out with emails and the guess who post. You were pretty much a mod towards the end. Secondly, a HUGE shoutout to bluedreaming, sengen35, 93rdfragment (who not only wrote a fic for her recipient, but submitted another fic to help raise the number of fics), curryramyeon, and kimchispaghetti for coming to my rescue as pinch-hitters. Thank you to ridzithenerd, wuxiing, glassfromscars, layterature, and uponinfinity for taking on loads of fics to beta.
kimchispaghetti, uponinfinity, and chocksi definitely saved me from having a heart attack. Thank you may not be enough, but it’s all I have to offer.
A few people dropped out during the exchange, whether it was them notifying me or just never turning in their fic, and it put me through a hard time. But you guys had my back, pushed my back to my feet, and I’m so thankful. (And just an FYI, everyone who dropped out after November 14 is banned from the exchange. And if you dropped out before that or asked for lots of extensions, I’ll take that into consideration too if I end up running another round.)
And finally, let’s thank Jongin and Kyungsoo for being an awesome OTP and being born to be in our lives, whether we only see them through the computer screen or not. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to run an exchange dedicated to the couple I ship most, and even more blessed that it took so well with everyone.
During this exchange, writers accumulated a whopping total of 346,000 words. That’s more than a quarter of a million words, all dedicated to one pairing. There were 40 fics in total, many well-over 10,000 words, and some that met the minimum requirement but were just as beautiful. (Though, to be honest, we could have done with a few more smut fics, lol.)
To finish this up, I’d like to receive some feedback from you all. A participant actually requested a platform to give feedback, and I thought it highly appropriate.
