i'm still alive.
my birthday is in 6 days. huzzah!
25 years old.
good lord.
okay, so yeah, if you know me, you probably know chris, our old guitarist in BND.. anyway, this dude is getting married in early October to his amazing fiance and i have am not only a groomsman, but i am also the...
dun dun DUNNNNNN
wedding reception DJ! oh yes.
i have DJ'd parties before, but never something as BIG and IMPORTANT as a wedding reception, so i'm a bit nervous. music is so crucial. and i haven't even started collecting songs yet.
basically it all hit me today, and now i'm freaking out. so here's the thing, on the internet there are a bunch of like.. classic wedding reception type songlists, so i'm not too worried about finding those. the stuff i want to find are the songs i'm NOT thinking of.
i want to have some cool indie stuff that chris would like thrown in with all the other classic stuff. obvious selections would be stuff like the postal service, modest mouse, or maybe hot hot heat. just to give it a little flair and make it less lame.
it should be either dancy, for the fun dancing part of the reception, or more chill for the early half of the reception (you know, while grandma is still there).
advice? ideas? this is your chance to fix all the bad wedding receptions you've been in the past by saving this one.
i'm expecting awesome results from this. my LJ friends are my most trusted advisors.
