Get Your Words Out 2019 - May

Jun 01, 2019 23:56

Where did May go? I felt like I hardly got to write anything this month, but when I compiled my numbers they were not quite as bad as I'd expected. They were not what I had hoped to accomplish, but since I expected it to be about 2,000 words at most I was pleasantly surprised when I clocked in at 6,541.

May was mostly spent on trying to write new short stories, which I failed at spectacularly even if the ideas by themselves were good. I did write another 2,600 words for my rough draft of the next chapter of Another Day In Paradise though. Which, yay. I'm hoping to clean it up and post it in June.

According to my stated goal, I should've written 62,500 words as of June 1st. My word count so far is 50,944, which means I've written a third of the words I signed up for this year. In effect, this means I'm 11,556 words behind schedule.

I signed up to write 150,000 words during 2019, which divided up means 12,500 words per month, 2,885 words per week, and 411 words per day.

Stats:
January: 9,676
February: 9,587
March: 13,149
April: 11,991
May: 6,541
YTD: 50,944
