Drabbles, inspired by CSI Season 2

Here are some of the drabbles I wrote over the summer and never posted anywhere.

Overall Disclaimer: I don't own anyone.

Title: Secret Desire
Rating: pea.gee.xiii
Spoiler: "Burked"
Pairing: Catherine/Nick

She knew he was off-limits. He was a coworker, he was younger, and he always seemed to have an attractive girlfriend.

Still, she wanted to be his and she wanted him to be hers---even if it was only for one night.

She looked for him, to watch and fuel her fantasies for a while. She found him kneeling in the yard, petting the dogs.

It was too hard to watch him, his hands stroking those dogs' golden coats. She felt her body temperature increase as she imagined those attentive hands on her skin before she made herself focus upon the job.

Title: Morning Glory
Rating: arr
Spoiler: n/a
Pairing: Gil/Greg

Gil woke up and the scent of coffee made him smile sleepily. He opened his eyes and looked around the brightly decorated bedroom before turning on his side and rubbing his face against the pillow.

He could smell his lover against the pillowcase, the spicy scent that belonged to the other scientist overring the Blue Hawaiian odor drifting from the kitchen.

"Good morning, lover," Greg said from the doorway, a cup of coffee in his hands.

The grey-haired criminalist smiled more and pushed himself up into a sitting position. The sheet slipped and he moved to cover his stomach. However, Greg stopped him.

"Don't," he murmured.

Greg gave Gil his coffee and then slithered onto the bed. He smirked and kissed Gil's abdomen before resting his head on Gil's stomach.

"Comfy?" Gil asked.

Greg smiled and nodded.

&&&&

Title: Curiosity
Rating: arr
Spoiler: n/a
Pairing: Danny Messer/Greg (CSI:NY/CSI)

Danny didn't know what he was doing. He had been drinking after a long day of trying to figure out what to do with his life after baseball. And a young guy with crazy hair and wide, innocent eyes walkted into the room. Before Danny knew it, he was talking with the younger guy; then he was at the younger guy's tiny apartment.

Greg was handsome and funny---not like the skirts Danny chased.

He should have kept his clothes on... he should have refused the invitation... but he had been curious.

"You okay?" Danny craned his neck and looked at Greg before swallowing his confusion and nodding.

Title: Pillow Talk
Rating: pea.gee.xiii
Spoiler: "Chaos Theory"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

Their accomodations were free, since the university 'graciously' offered them housing in one of their state of the art dorms; but Catherine had hoped they'd at least get separate rooms. Sharing a dorm room with Gil was far from comfortable.

"Stop it."

Gil growled and flopped onto his side. "How do kids sleep like this?!"

Catherine smiled in the dark. "They don't do much sleeping," she teased.

"Two people in a twin bed?" He responded. "That's not... that's just..."

As Gil trailed off, Catherine's mind imagined sharing her bed with him. Her heart and abdomen ached in reaction.

"Cozy," she whispered.

&&&&

Title: Straps and Changes
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Chaos Theory"
Pairing: Catherine/Warrick

"How about this strap?"

His hand covered her shoulder. She closed her eyes and told him it felt fine; they had done that work, setting up the rigging for climbing investigations, so many times, but something was making it hard to work that night, in the house's dumbwaiter shaft.

"And this one?"

His hand settled on her wasit. She sucked in a sharp breath.

"Fine..."

His hand slid down, molding to her thigh. "Here, too?" he asked in a more quiet, husky voice.

"Uh huh," she whispered.

His hand moved away to make room for his body. "After shift, my place?"

She nodded.

Everything would change in a few hours.

&&&&

Title: Chaos
Rating: en.sea.xvii
Spoiler: "Chaos Theory"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil/Warrick

Chaos.

Hands on bodies, mouths on necks.

Moans and growls and whimpers were harmony to the melody of squeaking mattress and flesh slapping agains flesh.

Beautiful Chaos. Cofee against peaches and cream. Different skin tones for his mouth to taste and his hands to explore.

It wasn't lasting perfection. It was unethical and unconventional and they risked everything by having that one night together.

Chaos theory. Messy, unlikely, and right---for them, after a case that shook them to their cores. They healed each other in his guestroom as dawn rose over the desert.

Title: Overcoming Depression
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Overload"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

"Warrick told me about your case," Catherine murmured as they worked in the kitchen, putting a meal together. "How did you know it wasn't suicide?"

Gil shrugged. "Didn't make sense... to go to work..."

"Maybe he wanted to jump."

He shrugged again. "He didn't though."

"Yeah."

She put some onions in the frying pan. Then, she put her hand on his shoulder. "Did... did you ever... think about... well, you know?" she asked in a quiet hesitant voice.

He nodded. "Once," he admitted. "You?"

"More than once," she whispered.

Gil turned and looked at her. She kissed his cheek. "Not in a very long time," she promised.

&&&&

Title: Pushing for More
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Overload"
Pairing: Catherine/ick

It had been a week since he told her about the babysitter, and a week since he last slept over at her house.

He had been afraid that admitting the truth would change their relationship. But she had pushed and he could never deny her anything---even information.

When he asked her about the time and distance, she smiled and slid her hand into his.

"I figured you'd come to me when you're ready," she murmured. "I didn't want to push."

He smiled and kissed her. Her lips tasted like strawberries.

"I'm ready," he whispered.

&&&&

Title: A Good Offer
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Overload"
Pairing: Catherine/Nick

"Hey, Cath?"

She looked up from her work, a file of information on her next case, and she smiled at the man in front of her. "Yeah, Nicky?"

He smiled back at her, but she thought he looked a little uncomfortable or embarrassed. She didn't know why.

"You know... if you ever do need soemeone to talk to... or whatever... I'm here for you," he told her.

Catherine smirked. "Or whatever?" she asked teasingly.

Nick came further into the room, his cheeks flushing. "Well... yeah."

"Be careful what you wish for," she warned in a purring voice.

He grinned, winked, and then walked away. Catherine laughed.

&&&&

Title: A Ghost in his Mind
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Bully for You"
Pairing: Catherine/Warrick

Thinking about high school made him think of the summer between graduation and university, about trying to be older than he was and cooler than he was, of the fake ID he obtained and the French Palace.

He saw her; she didn't see him because he was one face in a sea of enthralled men.

She was covered in a light sheen of sweat, glitter from her skin and g-string catching the lights from the stage.

That memory, of her performance, followed him through college and training. Sometimes it haunted him---like when they met the first time at the lab and when she wore something that sparkled... and when they were working in that school.

&&&&

Title: Cleaning Up
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Bully for You"
Pairing: Warrick/Nick

Warrick walked into the bathroom, saw the pile of used, sliced lemons, and he relaised that the citrus fruits had been what his boyfriend purchased at the market after shift.

"Hey, War? That you?"

The darker man chuckled. "You share a place with someone else?"

Nick chuckled, too. "Can you go get some more lemons? I left a bunch in the fridge," he said after laughing.

"You still smell?"

"I think so."

Warrick undressed and joined Nick in the shower. He put his hands on his lover's shoulders and leaned in to sniff along his wet skin.

"You're good, man," he whispered, sliding his hands around Nick's body.

&&&&

Title: After Shift
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "Scuba Doobie Doo"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

"Uncle Gil, Uncle Gil!" Lindsey cried out happily as she rushed the criminalist.

Catherine chuckled as she went out to meet them in the doorway. "Linds, baby... Gil's had a rough case, so, maybe you shouldn't---"

Gil hoisted the young girl into his arms as they walked into the Willows' home. "It's okay," he said quietly, smiling despite his exhaustion. "How are my girls?"

"Mommy told me about her scuba diver in the tree!" Lindsey exclaimed. "It was funny... well, until it was murder," she added sheepishly.

Gil smiled. Catherine leaned in and kissed his cheek. "We're okay," she told him. "Come inside and tell Linds about your nosebleed guy while I fix breakfast," she instructed in a tender voice.

&&&&

After Lindsey went to school, Gil took a shower while Catherine turned the sheets down and did all of the other things that needed to be done before they slept.

She finished loading the dishwasher and then she joined him in the bedroom. He was tugging on boxers, much to her dismay.

"You're covering up?" she asked, pouting.

"Tired," he said to explain his actions.

Catherine squeezed his hand. "Come to bed," she murmured.

She undressed, dropping her clothes on the floor as if they were a trail. Gil followed that path, crawling onto the mattress behind her.

"Sweet dreams," he whispered as he hugged her close.

&&&&

Title: Blood Stains
Rating: pea.gee.xiii
Spoiler: "Altar Boys"
Pairing: None

The blood on his clothes would most likely stain, but not in the same way that they blood on his skin would stain, below the surface of the flesh and on his soul.

He stepped under the steady stream of warm water and tried to wash away the youn man's blood. The physical stains disintegrated, diluted in the water, pooled around the drain in a little reddish puddle.

Soap helped wash the blood away. It helped him to think of happier times, through scent memory, but it couldn't clean deeper than his skin.

His soul would be permanently stained by that man's death.

&&&&

Title: Confused
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Caged"
Pairing: Catherine/Sara

Sometimes she couldn't work with the strawberry blonde. Catherine was Grissom's closest friend and confidante, his right hand on the job---everything she envisioned becoming when she moved to Las Vegas.

But, sometimes, she could see past her bitter jealousy and see the woman more clearly: mother, scientist, worldly, beautiful, intelligent... the list never seemed to end.

During those times a slow ache would settle in her stomach, burning her from the inside out as they processed a scene together.

It would last through interrogations, booking, and the end of the shift, leaving her body warm and her mind confused.

&&&&

Title: First Time
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Slaves of Las Vegas"
Pairing: Catherine/Heather

Catherine didn't know what she was doing, approaching the old house where men went to be punished and humiliated. She had felt something, a shiver of certainty, when she had been there the first time---something to pull her back again, on her own time.

It didn't hurt more than it aroused; her mistress knew her mind and body before the first lash, before the first pinch, before the first caress.

Heather held her close afterwards, in a tub of warm, scented water. They shared more without words, like promises of more encounters in which they would share more of themselves.

&&&&

Title: Secret
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Slaves of Las Vegas"
Pairing: Nick/Heather

It was too close to home, Nick thought at the end of the case, on his way out of the lab. He went there for recovery, for solace, and it had been violated by the criminal element he dealt with during his life above ground.

His dominant hadn't given his secret away. Nick had been grateful for that; he didn't want Catherine and Grissom to know his secret, to know he needed to submit on a regular basis.

They shared one quiet look in the house. His eyes conveyed apology, sincerity. Her eyes conveyed gratitude, adness, and a promise that his secret was safe.

&&&&

Title: Scars
Rating: arr
Spoiler: n/a
Pairing: Catherine/Eddie, Catherine/?

She hadn't wanted the lights on, but he insisted upon it---so he could see her, he claimed.

So, she was careful, using shadows and bed sheets to hide her body and its scars.

Eddie had hated the small scars and what they meant; she had taken to hiding them from him and anyone else she decided to let into her heart.

His fingers found one. She flinched away and shielded her body from him.

"Stop," he insisted quietly.

She protested. He leaned over her, brushing his fingers over the slightly raised and discoloured skin. He whispered words of assurance, promising that he couldn't be repulsed by something that made her who she was---the woman he loved.

&&&&

Title: Flirtation
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "And Then There Were None"
Pairing: Sara/Nick

"You shouldn't do that," Sara scolded quietly.

Nick grinned. "Do what?" he asked, brushing his foot against her leg, underneath the table in the break room.

Sara blushed. "That," she mumbled.

Her boyfriend laughed and dropped his eyes back to his work in front of him. She thought he looked entirely too pleased with himself but she found it adorable...

...until Grissom and Catherine joined them to discuss the case. Then she struggled to keep her face neutral as Nick's sock-clad foot stroked her leg, with several unaware people only a few feet away.

&&&&

And for a little break in the CSI-ness, here's a Dark Angel drabble, inspired by the events of CSi's "Ellie."

Title: Grieving
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "And Jesus Brought a Casserole"
Pairing: Sil/Krit

It was better when they were separate, not knowing what the others were doing. That way, they could imagine everyone was happy and safe.

Knowing Zack and Max were dead... that hurt them both more than anything else they could imagine. Zack had been their guardian. Max had been their heart and soul.

In their cargo car of the train going to Canada, Sil held onto Krit, trying to get more than heat from their nude bodies' rubbing together.

She kissed away his tears as he wiped again hers. They mourned their siblings and tried to feel more alive.

Okay... and now, back to the CSI show...

&&&&

Title: Disappointed
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "Ellie"
Pairing: n/a

Sara growled and slammed her locker door shut. She always had a hard time swallowing disappointment; Grissom-induced disappointment was even harder to swallow.

She thought she did everything right, everything possible to get into his good graces and into his heart. She thought he cared about her. She thought she was important to him.

But, he chose Warrick over her to have the shift, to be leader while he and Catherine were away.

It stung. It made bile rise into her throat.

Grissom should have chosen her.

&&&&

Title: Wants
Rating: en.sea.xvii
Spoiler: "Ellie"
Pairing: Warrick/Ellie

Oh, he wanted to fill her up. He wanted to slam her against the wall and rip that flimsy johnny-shirt from her body before he tugged his pants down and pushed his erection inside her in one fluid stroke.

He wanted to feel her legs wrap around his waist and he wanted to make her moan and beg, only to swallow those sounds with his mouth as he kissed her until they desperately needed to breathe.

Her smirk told him that she was thinking similar things, wanting similar things. He backed away and tucked his wants and needs into the dark recesses of his mind.

&&&&

Title: Rendezvous
Rating: pea.gee.xiii
Spoiler: "Organ Grinder"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

"How romantic," Catherine murmured as she stepped into the hotel room, closing the door behind her, "murder central."

Gil looked up from his crossword puzzle and smiled. "It felt fitting," he said. He set down the newspaper and rose to meet her. "You look wonderful," he whispered, taking her hands in his.

With a smile of her own, she leaned in and kissed him. His lips were soft, warm, yielding to hers. Catherine sighed and inched closer to seek another touch of lips.

"Would you like some champagne?" he asked between kisses.

Catherine shook her head and tugged him further into the room.

&&&&

Title: Secrecy
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Organ Grinder"
Pairing: Catherine/Nick

She knew it wasn't cocaine. It wasn't the same as the powder she separated into lines on the mirror she kept in her bedside table drawer. It wasn't what she stared at when she felt lost, alone, and depressed. It wasn't the substance that called her name every second of every day.

Nick came over unexpectedly one day, afer a bad case that had rattled her soul.

He learned it was cocaine, a substance that could ruin her life and career if she didn't get the help she needed. It flushed down the toilet easily, despite her cries in the bedroom, and it was a secret he promised to keep to himself.

Pairing: Catherine/Warrick

TO: WBROWN@LVCSI.COM
FR: CWILLO@LVCSI.COM
SUBJECT: After shift...

MESSAGE:
After shift... I'm going home. Lindsey's with Eddie for the next couple of days, so I've got the place to myself. I'm going to get undressed and take a long, hot bath. Then, I'm going to dry off and rub lotion on my skin and put on the shirt you left in my closet.

I'm going to go to bed with one of my favourite toys and imagine that you're in bed with me teasing and turning me on.

When you're finished at the lab, come over. I'll leave the key in the same spot as last time...

Title: Concern
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "Identity Crisis"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

"You didn't need to tell them---"

She launched at him and poked her finger into his chest. "Don't you dare," she hissed, cutting him off. "For all we know, you're his next target! I want the team to know---"

"I'm not in any danger---"

She snorted. "Were you born this thick or have years of lab work friedn your brain?" she demanded. "Gil! There's a serial killer and your birthday is next---"

He put his finger against her lips and she fell silent mid-sentence. "I have you looking out for me," he whispered. "I know I'm gonna be okay."

Title: After the Play
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "The Finger"
Pairing: n/a

"Is Mommy okay?"

Warrick looked down at the little blonde girl and he smiled. "Yeah," he told her, "she's fine."

"But, she promised she'd be at my recital," she said. Her lower lip pouted. "She promised."

Warrick picked her up and bounced her a little. He smiled again. "She wouldn't have missed it if she hadn't been forced to," he assured her. "She had to try to save a young lady... somebody else's baby."

"She's okay now though?"

He nodded. "We've got her back," he promised. "We take care of our own... including you, little miss."

The girl smiled and hugged him.

Title: A Mother's Concern
Rating: gee
Spoiler: n/a
Pairing: n/a

Lily watched her headstrong daughter march out of her home one year ago to the day. She had been in love with a young man and she wanted to live with him, no matter what her family had to say about it.

Every one of those three hundred and sixty-five days, Lily worried. Not all the time, but at least once or twice during idle moments. She was afraid for Catherine; she was afraid she'd lose her daughter, informed by police officiers on the porch of what went wrong.

No one ever came to her with bad news, but that never stopped her from worrying.

&&&&

Title: Contact: Darkness and Light
Rating: en.sea.xvii
Spoiler: n/a
Pairing: n/a

She never thought she'd be a victim again. Kidnapped, assaulted, drugged, convinced she was raped... she thought she had put it all behind her.

But then someone grabbed her as she was leaving the lab and she was the victim once more. She tried to be resourceful, she tried to leave clues for the team but she didn't even know if they knew she was being held hostage by someone cruel and unusual.

His hands closed around her throat as he forced his way into her body from between her legs. Darkness closed in on her for the fourth time that night; she prayed for salvastion and detached herself from the situation.

&&&&

The sirens reached her ears as the darkness swallowed her. She thought they were music, maybe played by heaven's angels in the last moments of her life.

Bright lights woke her; her first thought was that the ordeal was over, that she hadn't survived. But, when she opened her eyes she saw Nick instead of the pearly gates, she was surprised.

His eyes were watery and his smile was wide.

"It's really good to see you, Cath," he whispered. He reached out to touch her, but then recoiled in hesitation.

She extended her scraped-up hand, offering it to him, seeking the comfort his touch could provide.

&&&&

Title: Start and Finish
Rating: en.sea.xvii
Spoiler: "Burden of Proof"
Pairing: Nick/Greg

Nick reached into the hamper. He was hard, morning wood aching against the palm of his hand; he wanted his boyfriend's shirt, his scent, to intensify his fantasy.

He pulled the shirt out of the hamper and was disappointed to see stains already on it. He sighed. Then, he smiled a little as he thought of his lover pleasuring himself.

"Starting without me?" Greg asked from the doorway.

His hair was wildly tousled and his face was soft and drowsy, but his eyes were dark and full of desire.

"Want to finish with me?"

Greg replied by dropping to his knees in front of Nick, by opening his mouth and swallowing him whole.

&&&&

Title: Enigma
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Primum Non Nocere"
Pairing: GSR

He said things to make her insides melt and then he walked out onto the ice, as cool and collected as he had ever been.

She didn't understand how he could flick a switch and return to work, tuck his feelings away without any difficulty. She wanted to reach out, to touch him the way he touched her. But, he withdrew from her and from whatever was developing between them.

His heart was behind a fortress; his mind was a mystery. She hoped that one day she would be able to figure out the puzzle and break down those stone walls.

&&&&

Title: Support
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Felonious Monk"
Pairing: Catherine/Warrick

She wasn't surprised when he joined her at the bar and ordered a beer. If anything, she was relieved to no longer be alone with her thoughts.

"Single malt?" he asked, motioning towards her drink.

She nodded and sipped from the glass. The amber liquid burned her throat; she welcomed the ache.

He put his hand over hers and asked how she was doing, after they learned of Jimmy's mistake.

A bitter laugh escaped her mouth. "That question's not safe to answer," she admitted.

He nodded. Then, he threaded her fingers through his. She smiled sadly and leaned against him, accepting everything he offered.

&&&&

Title: Sidekick
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "Chasing the Bus"
Pairing: n/a

Sara left with her results; her words echoed in Greg's mind.

He wanted to be good at more than just his job. He wanted more for himself, than being in the lab and passing out results to the criminalists. He wanted to be a part of something, to go into the world, to fix the world and restore its balance.

In his mind, they were superheroes... brave, bold, intelligent. And he was out of their league, a lowly sidekick.

Every time he tried to be more, he failed miserably.

He looked around his lab and sighed, realising he would be there for a while.

&&&&

Title: Nightmares
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Stalker"
Pairing: Nick/Gil

Nick woke up, sweating, panting, and terrified. Images of his ordeal had been haunting him again in his sleep.

His lover was still awake; he didn't say anything. All the other man did was wrap his arms around Nick, giving him silent promises, silent reassurances.

"I can't shut it off, man," Nick whispered shakily.

"I'm not going to let anyone hurt you," his lover whispered.

Nick nodded. He rubbed his cheek against his boyfriend's chest; he could hear his heart beating, a warm and comforting sound.

"Grissom, I---"

He kissed the top of Nick's head. "Shh," he whispered, "I've got you."

&&&&

Title: A Laugh in the Morning
Rating: pea.gee
Spoiler: "Cats in the Cradle"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

Catherine smiled as Gil woke up, tightening his embrace around her body. He kissed her shoulder; she shivered and snuggled into him.

"Morning," he whispered.

"Hey," she whispered back before she turned around to face him.

They had just enough time to share two kisses before Lindsey knocked and entered the bedroom.

"Mommy? Uncle Gil?"

Clothed in a t-shirt, Catherine sat up and reached for her daughter. Gil tugged his undershirt on as he, too, sat up.

"Yeah, baby?" Catherine murmured. "Did you sleep okay?"

"Uh huh," the blonde girl said, nodding.

"What's up?" Gil asked.

Lindsey sucked in a sharp breath. Then, she said, "Can I have a kitten?"

Catherine and Gil looked at each other and chuckled.

&&&&

Title: The I in Team
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "Anatomy of a Lye"
Pairing: n/a

"How does she do that?" Sara ranted.

Nick smiled and shrugged, stirring sugar into his coffee; he listened as Sara continued to rant about Catherine's evidenciary discovery and itseffect on Grissom.

"She just... all he talked about on our way to question the suspect was how quick... how good she is at her job!"

"You're good at your job, too."

Sara frowned. "Why is she better than me?"

The man looked at her. "It's not a competition, Sara," he reminded her. "We're a team."

He saw the frown on her face, as it deepened. He didn't think she believed they were a team.

&&&&

Title: Passing Time
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Cross-Jurisdictions"
Pairing: Catherine/Warrick

"So our flight won't be leaving for another three hours," Catherine said as she snapped her phone shut and looked at her colleague.

Warrick smirked. "A'right. How are we gonna pass the time 'til then?"

The strawberry blonde crossed the hotel room so she was only inches away from the man.

"I can think of a few ways," she murmured.

He grinned and put his hands on her hips, drawing her closer, pressing their bodies together.

"Check out's in an hour," he reminded her.

Catherine grinned and put her hands on his chest. "Maybe we should put the room to use, finally," she whispered.

He agreed by lowering his mouth onto hers.

&&&&

Title: Secret Desires
Rating: arr
Spoiler: "Cross-Jursidictions"
Pairing: Gil/Catherine

He saw her in those jeans and pink shirt and his abdomen tightened. It looked like her clothes were painted on or designed specifically for her; he wanted nothing more than to peel those clothes off of her, to expose the assets to which they clung, to possess her body as well as her mind, heart, and soul as much as she claimed him with her blue eyes and captivating smile.

He didn't know that she was affected similarly by the sight of him in a suit, that she wanted to peal his layers of clothing away and expose his secrets in the process.

&&&&

Title: Letting Loose in Miami
Rating: en.sea.xvii
Spoiler: "Cross-Jurisdictions"
Pairing: Catherine/Calleigh

Tim watched Catherine on the Shore Club's terrace. She was all business---it was a serial murder, after all---but he knew that after the case was solved, she'd let loose like the rest of them did, going to family, friends, or a favourite haunt to heal their wounds.

Calleigh watched Tim as he watched Catherine. She hid her smile as he appraised the other woman. She imagined the two of them together; she appreciated the vision before she realised Catherine was too much woman for him.

But, maybe, Catherine was just enough woman for her.

&&&&

The night was still young. Tim and Eric bought the table another round of drinks; Warrick was talking with them while Catherine tipped the waitress before rejoining the conversation.

Calleigh was infatuated. She loved the way the other woman's lips curved and her eyes sparkled when she laughed. She buried her attraction in bourbon, hoping no one noticed.

Someone did, though. Her hand curved over the inside of Calleigh's thigh, over her slacks and over her pulse.

"Catherine," Calleigh whispered, looking at the other blonde.

"Am I misreading this?"

Calleigh shook her head.

"My room, one hour," Catherine whispered before starting a conversation with Eric.

&&&&

Catherine licked a path from Calleigh's navel to her cleavage, savouring the taste of her skin. She placed several open-mouthed kisses on the other woman's breasts; then, she drew one nipple into her mouth and worried it with her teeth as she slipped her body between Calleigh's trembling legs.

Their limbs interlocked easily, soft flesh ovvering no resistance to the rhythm their nerves needed. Catherine dropped her lips onto Calleigh's mouth; they kissed gently, until Catherine nipped her lower lip and pressed down on one knee. Calleigh came apart with a sharp cry, her lover's name hoarse and shrill at the same time.

&&&&

Warrick closed his cellular phone before clipping it onto his belt. "Flight's delayed tomorrow," he explained to Tim and Eric.

"Aren't you gonna call your partner?" Tim asked after Warrick ordered another drink from their sultry waitress. Warrick smirked and shook his head. Tim frowned. "Why not?"

"She'll be tied up for at least another couple of hours," he replied.

Eric looked at the man from Las Vegas. Then, he looked at the empty chairs where Catherine and Calleigh once sat.

"Oh... you can't be serious."

Warrick laughed quietly while nodding. "You didn't notice them?"

"Guess not... wow. Can't believe I missed that."

Tim scowled. "Missed what?"

&&&&

Title: Lying
Rating: gee
Spoiler: "The Hunger Artist"
Pairing: Catherine/Gil

"Gil?"

He turned and looked at Catherine, a weary smile on his face as he did. She seemed refreshed and energised---like she usually did after taking Lindsey to school.

"Hey," he murmured, closing his laptop and hiding the research he had been conducting.

Catherine came into the office and put her hands on his desk; she fiddled with a few knick-knacks before speaking.

"I called you earlier. No answer," she said.

Gil sighed and shrugged. He wanted to tell her the truth---she was the only one he felt he could confide in, after all they shared together. But, something held him back, so he lied.
