i was out walking Reyna last night, when i heard the smallest of tiniest noises above my head -- so faint i barely noticed it. i looked up, and saw a large winged silhouette fly right over me... pretty low. kind-of baffled + caught off-guard, i stood still and watched it land on a nearby roof. it looked like a large cat, just perched there... with ears. wherein which i realized that a Great Horned Owl had just flown super close to my head. wherein which i was in Awe, having never seen an owl outside before -- let alone had one fly so close to me that i heard it (and owls have damn silent feathers).
so i stood there in the street, in the dark, outside of someone's house, peering up at their roof for a while. and eventually, i felt like i should really start walking so as to not alarm the residents of said house. and i begin to walk away... when the owl decided to fly onto the next roof of the house i was then approaching. and this happened twice.
and. it was just really, really incredible... to put it mildly.
