07. THE ARCHON (A Kaslo Chronicles story) by Matthew Hughes In the latest Kaslo Chronicle tale, Erm Kaslo, his magician boss Diomedo Obron and their dragon Saunterance travel through space portals called "whimseys" to visit the legendary Old Earth, where they hope to consult a leader called The Archon about the enemy facing them on the 7th Plateau. But first they have to convince the Archon that the threat is real and that they aren't the enemy. This might be my favorite Kaslo tale so far; I've come a long way in my enjoyment of the serial since it started (when, as some readers will recall, I wasn't really a fan). Hughes plays a sort of very light tension across the story, building on at least the three previous installments.
