Crop the image & resize to 100x100.
Duplicate the layer and sharpen it. Set the copy to screen at 60%
Create a new layer and fill it with #000555. Set it to exclusion.
Make another new layer. Fill it with #ff2b15 and set it to dodge, at 35 opacity.
Create another layer and fill it with #ff49bc. Set it to soft light at 30 opacity.
Duplicate the copy of the original background, and lay it on top of the layers. Set it to burn and set the opacity to 10. There's not much of a difference, but this is just to make sure that the original image is still clearly visible, and not too lost within the layers.
Take [
THIS ] texture from
colorfilter, and set it to screen on top of the other layers.
Lay [
THIS ] mask that I made on top and set it to screen. The mask though, is rather image selective, so feel free to use a different mask.
Be sure to credit me if you use this mask.
Next, write a word or two on the blank white space of the icon. I wrote "simplicity" in Arial. I then wrote it again in Miss and put it right under the Arial "simplicity."
Finally, apply a 1px black border around the icon & you're done!
Please credit me for whichever icon you post using this tutorial.
Good luck iconing & show me your results!
