Is shitty to be honest... I read all these reports and stories about men and women being killed in Iraq, people with children, husbands and wives, parents, brothers and sisters...
Every time I read one of these stories I wonder how many men and women have fought and died because of me.
I don't mean because I'm an American or because they're defending their country.
I mean because I was medically discharged from the Army.
So how many people have fought and died somewhere where I should have been? How many have endured and suffered in my place?
There's a person, someone who is a better person than I, who's more courageous and humble and honest, who fought and died in my stead.
And that's not fair to them or to their family.
And now I sit here writing this LiveJournal entry while someone somewhere is bleeding and dying.
And why not me? It should be me.
