am i going to actually post in this livejournal? an interesting and quasi-philisophical question. i'm not really a fan of being witty and honest on my computer. i've always found pen & paper a) more accommodating, b) more personal, and c) more inspiring. i just go blank in the unwavering flourescent stare of my monitor. who ever knew computers could be so intimidating? possibly judgemental? plus i like my handwriting, and i like accompanying my writing with art. so probably not, no.
so why am i posting now? i'll tell you. i am posting because i am at my computer, i haven't in some time, and i posted a mix without any chatter or other sign that i am, in fact, alive and well despite my internet absenteeism.
plus, i have to share this:
so i was helping at music for life, the cd/record/tape/video/dvd/etc. sale that benefits clare housing (they provide affordable housing accommodations for aids victims.), and so i helped set up, sort cd's, and run the show. i was sorting cd's for nigh on six hours in the vacancy that was formerly borders book store in calhoun square with a frappucino (the beauty of uptown... coffee shops in abundance, right at your caffeine-deficient fingertips...), so, naturally, being me, comma, comma, i accumulated quite a stack of cd's that i might choose to purchase myself (before it even opened? yes! what a fantastic place to volunteer, you say? yes!). i sorted through a few boxes of unsellables, aka utter crap, donated by cd warehouse, though one of them was a goldmine of backyard folkie bands with homemade cd's and silly/eerie cover art. to get to the point,

oh, and belle & sebastian, radiohead, paul westerberg, and the jam, which i gave to cole for his road trip up north.
sweet, no? i think so. anyway, feeling music-savvy (and the perkins isn't sitting too well, so a little bloated) and sleepy. cole is gone for at least two weeks... i'm going to get out a lot in the next couple weeks. there's something cruel about circumstances that leave you completely without someone for a few solid weeks, then allow you to be practically inseparable until you part one day later. and then repeat the process over and over and over during the happiest and most carefree days of youth. we're going to miss another anniversary... eleven months. next month it'll be a year. but maybe i should just dump him and play the field while he's gone to occupy myself... ha. i'm going to bed.
