I <3 Boxing Day

Dec 27, 2006 06:30

Well I'm not usually a fan of boxing day, since I tend to avoid mass crowds and I usually go home empty-handed (or at least not enough to justify fighting through crowds and time spent. But this year was totally different.

I woke up just before 6am to get to Best Buy as the doors opened at 6am. There was still a lineup outside which I had to wait for 10 mins at least. I finally got in and looked for the $99 HP 5.0 MP camera that I saw in the flyer's front page. I got to the cage full of cameras and the person told me to lineup at one of those side-registers to get it. I looked through the flyer during that 10 mins of lineup and decided to get a slightly better camera for $149, so I did. I bumped into my helpful co-worker and he got me a 2 x 1GB pack of SD cards while I was in the line for $29. So I bought those and looked around some more. Then I saw 3 Xbox360 games my brother might like for cheap (2x$39 and 1x$49). I think I'm returning them all because he doesn't like Call of Duty 3, and I'm returning the $69 Rainbow 6: Vegas which I got him for Christmas and keeping the $39 version. He's still undecided about Marvel Alliance though. So I lined up again, but found my friend near the front of the line and TOTALLY cut in. I like cuts.

Then I head over to Future Shop, which had an even longer lineup outside. I saw my friend Rich near the front and greeted him Merry Christmas and talked about what he's getting and stuff, then I lined up at the back. And I was like DAMN I should have talked to him as if he were my brother and cut in line or something, but it was too late. Oh well, I didn't wait that long in line. I saw some good deals for computers so I thought I'd check it out. I ended up getting an Intel Pentium D for $599, which apparently I save $400 :O and a 19" LCD widescreen monitor for $199 which will replace my two fat CRT monitors. I contemplated a lot on the computer because I already have my iMac so I questioned if I needed it. My PC was crashing on me a lot but if I had my iMac, I didn't know. But I got it anyway, I can probably just return it if I decide otherwise though. And I got a free printer with that which I don't need but hey it was free. Rich lined up with me so we were both able to look around one at a time during the long lineup, so that was a good plan.

I was outta there and on the way home by 8:30am. So all in all, I'd say I had a successful shopping morning. Total spent...way too much. More than all my Christmas shopping altogether :/ But it looks like I won't be able to spend anything like that until summertime, so might as well now.
