I just have to rave about my proud win in a game of MvC2 the other night.
I was using my best team, Magneto/Cable/Iron Man, and played against a couple of guys who knew how to play, so they were pretty good. If you've seen me play, you know how ridiculous/cheap this game can get. We exchanged wins. Then when I lost, I switched to Magneto/Storm/Psylocke, which the best players in the world often use. I lost pretty badly.
I walked away, upset. Then I thought about how if a good player that uses good characters plays another person who uses unusual characters might not know what to expect, so they might have a harder time against them. So I picked Cable, because he's my main man of damage, and I picked, of all people, Amingo, someone nobody EVER EVER uses in the game. Probably because he's bad, but I know how to use him a bit.
So I used this cactus-looking character, and killed the other guy's Magneto with him alone. By the end, I pretty much destroyed him. He walked away defeated and embarassed.
Then the next day I had an urge to come back that night and beat more people with Amingo. So I went back, played on the opposite side, and realized that the weak kick button was broken. That's probably why they lost, but still...AMINGO! You don't lose to Amingo. Well I still beat the other guy with a broken weak kick, although they were pretty bad.
Then I proceeded to get jipped by playing on the 1P side of KBM which had a broken wheel that doesn't scroll down, so I had to play light.
Then I proceeded to get raped by IIDX Red because I never played 7-key in my life. I don't remember level 4 songs being that hard!
