The Saga Begins
Hello there. I've been spending a great deal of time lately exploring the great world of professional publishing, and let me just say, it's a really really hard thing to do. It's not enough to have written an amazing story. You need to have an agent, and to get an agent you need to be published. I love the cath 22s of the creative industries. To get published you have to be published. So I began thinking, and the best way to get published is to get stories in literary magazines. Of course, for that to happen you need to have a bunch of short stories written...
And that's where this blog comes in. I have decided that over the next 31 days I am going to write 31 stories. I'm going to try to tackle every genre I can and every style that I can, and at the end of the 31 days I'm hoping I'll have a few that are worth submitting.
It's going to be a lot of fun, but it's also going to be really crazy. I really want to hear from everyone! Criticism, praise, really terrific ideas that you just have to share, or even just "go get-em tiger!"
I'll be posting a new story every day over the next month, and I hope you will all join me for the ride!
