When Stan first saw the Daily Prophet announcing Sirius Black's escape from Azkaban, he was terrified. The man looked like a lunatic who seemed ready to kill again.
He hoped Black would be caught soon; Azkaban, hell or not, was the place for criminals. They only got what they deserved.
It was a great shock for him to find out that Sirius Black had been innocent all along. Stan felt bad about wishing he'd been caught a couple of years before.
Now, sitting alone in his cell, he wonders if people outside think he deserves to be in Azkaban, too.
