Actually, this is before Kaito escapes to see Hakuba, before the meeting with the peeps, and before Kudo... ahahhaa. So yeah. He gets out. For a time >.>;;;

Also, answer to the first question is here: Even when he'd had yet to lash out at anyone since they'd given him a name just like those others.
