[Feb 20] [The Last Unicorn] Eyes High

Molly had gotten up in the night for some reason or another, but had forgotten it as soon as her bleary eyes had focused on the night sky overhead. Molly had seen some stained glass and tapestry in Haggard’s castle, but hadn’t really known what their creators has been reaching for until she had seen this.
The whole dome of the sky covered the world, too deep a blue to be black. The stars gleamed down. It was the first time she had seen anything as white and shining as the Unicorn since they had left Lir’s kingdom. She ended up staring off into it much like Haggard had stared into the sea.
She sat up so long her bed got cold, and Schmendrick shivered himself awake next to it. He looked up and saw her rapt expression. Lit with pale, silver light, her eyes were luminous and the lines around them were smoothed away. With a look of wonder on her face, she looked otherworldly and beautiful. His own eyes never made it to the stars.
