Keitaro was watching Motoko clean and polish her katana. "You certainly take good care of your sword," he said.
"If a sword has a polished surface and a honed edge," Motoko said, "then its song will will be strong and clear."
"Does a sword really have a voice?" Keitaro rested a hand on Motoko's sword. "I wonder what it's saying now."
Motoko scowled. "It's saying, 'if you want to keep that hand attached to your arm, then don't touch me'!"
Keitaro drew back and sighed sadly. "It's just saying the same thing that every girl says to me," he said.
