WELCOME to the (first-ever?) Seungri Pimp Post!

Seungri himself is joining us for this momentous occasion

Stage Name: Seungri (승리, "Victory"), V.I.
Band: Big Bang
Position: Choreographer / Vocalist / Youngest Member (Maknae)
Real Name: Lee Seunghyun (이승현)
Birthdate: December 12, 1990 (age 19, 20 in Korea)

Lee Seung-hyun (Korean: 이승현), known by his stage name Seungri, which means "victory" in Korean, is a member of Korean group Big Bang. Before joining the group, he was a member of a dance team in Gwangju (his hometown). He first appeared on television on the reality television series Let's Cokeplay: M.Net Battle Shinhwa, a show in which Shinhwa attempted to create a boy band that could be a "second Shinhwa". Although he was noticed for his dance skills, his lack of vocal skills lead to him being eliminated. He was later scouted by the record label YG Entertainment and joined the group Big Bang. Although he was initially cut on the ninth episode of the group's documentary series, he was given another chance to impress YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk and succeeded.

Careful observation of the behavior of international Big Bang fans shows me that Seungri is one of the least popular members of the group. This might be in part because he is outspoken, fiercely ambitious, annoyingly talkative, an attention/camera whore, and kind of an idiot. HOWEVER, he has a heart of gold and really cares for his fans and his friends, and that is obvious to anyone who gives him a chance. He is also stupidly adorable and basically a puppy. Allow me to show you a side-by-side comparison:

Seungri is also far more talented than people give him credit for. He is charismatic, he can sing, he can dance, he can choreograph, and he has a great stage presence. He is good-humored and allows his friends and bandmates to make fun of him left and right. It is quickly apparent to anyone who sees him on shows that he is all for publicity, good or bad, and does not mind getting teased mercilessly if it means he gets extra camera time. Again, this is a trait that might make some people find him less favorable than his bandmates, but it's actually really adorable, like the rest of him! ... Oh god, can you tell I love this kid?

One of my favorite things about Seungri is that he is SO STRANGE. He rattles off for minutes on camera about things that make little sense (i.e. how the colors of his shirt represent his love for his members and fans), no one seems to know how to deal with him (T.O.P is perpetually unimpressed/confused by his existence, G-Dragon often looks like he might laugh/cry simultaneously, Daesung doesn't know what to make of him, and Taeyang tries really hard to be supportive even though Seungri makes NO SENSE), and be warned that when you watch Seungri do pretty much anything, you WILL find yourself facepalming. This kid has literally no shame which is why it is up to us, his fans, to feel second-hand embarassment on his behalf.

Other interesting facts: he is a shameless Xiah Junsu (TVXQ) fanboy, he comes from the same hometown as U-Know Yunho (TVXQ) and Yoobin (Wonder Girls), he is younger than 2/5 of SHINee members, he was a member of the Wonder Boys:

Q: G-DRAGON, what do you think of V.I.?
GD: Something like a cute dongsaeng. However, when I’m near him, I get tired because there’s too many things to pay attention to. (laugh)
Q: What’s V.I.’s role in the group?
GD: In charge of being the maknae. Someone who gives you energy. He takes it even when I tease him a lot (laugh).

Thoughts on V.I.?
YB: He's always confident. He takes the initiative and sets an example for us. He has a lot of motivation for his own color; in Korea he's in dramas, musicals and is even an MC.
DS: Usually when people start new thing, they hesitate and don't step forward. V.I is always willing to challenge himself. He's full of confidence and is able to show his results. He's the youngest in our group, but there's a lot to learn from him. For example, in your working field there are a lot of people that are above you. There probably would be some things that are hard to do, but he always works with a bright attitude. I'm thankful for that point.
TOP: His voice tone in BIGBANG's music, gives a feeling of Western music. Also, his fan services are outstanding. For example, when a fan turns their back, he makes them come back with his fan services. His ability to absorb everything, he has a charm that attracts people. He has a lot of desire in many areas- I don't know what he's thinking about... That was a joke(laugh). His passion towards dancing is outstanding too. He's studying, listening to music. He's a person that works very hard. Also when we release a new album the fans always say, "V.I always improves"(laugh). He makes us feel something, and makes us think that we should work harder.
GD: We talk about this a lot amongst ourselves a lot, he has the concentration and tenacity that we even think he would survive in a deserted island. He's also really good at working with other people. Has great desires. Since he's still young, there are parts where we say 'since he's still young-', so we're looking forward to his future. Also, he's lived by himself for a long time. You might think that many unfortunate things would happen working as a group, but he always deeply thinks about everything. Because not everyone knows that, some people that meet him for the first time think he's a little arrogant and has boundaries. However when they get to know him, they'll notice how charming he is. So within this group, he's the cute youngest brother. When he hears, "this isn't it" from someone, he's the cute youngest brother that tries to fix that part. Musically, he has the strong sensibility of a boy. His voice colour enriches BIGBANG's music. He's always passionate toward dancing and is a person that always works hard. He'll make more progression in the future. He'll make "Victory" in BIGBANG.

Seungri started out as an adorable, slightly awkward kid who seemed vastly different from his gangsta bandmates.

"Strong Baby" is the title of one of the greatest songs in existence Seungri's most famous solo. For the music video, he was decked out in various fitted suits/formalwear and "made out" with some random Korean chick. Talk about change in image...

Seungri is known for being teased relentlessly by his bandmates. G-Dragon is the prime suspect in this case, because he is nearly always poking, prodding, kissing, hugging, pinching, and mocking Seungri on and off camera. However, he's not the only one with a love for touching maknae, as you will see in these next few images...

It took me like two hours to narrow down my Seungri picture collection into ones that were pimp-post-worthy. Unfortunately, my narrowed down selection included about 50 images. Such is the life of a Seungri fan. Here are some more pictures...
