Title: Accept My Love
Author's Note: The song is "Accept my Love" by BB King. The band's name is taken from this quote: “My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues” said by Mark Knopfler.

I don't even know your name
But I love you just the same
If you let me hold your hand
Then I think maybe I can make you understand

She didn't know why she had accepted but she had. She hadn't spoken to him for a full month after the kiss at Madeline's party. He had cornered her after an English class and asked her out. Before she could think about, before she had a chance to even think of a reason why she couldn't she heard herself accepting.

"Great, I'll pick you up Saturday night." He had said and he had kept to his word. At seven o'clock that Saturday he was at her doorstep. She waved goodbye to Lorelai before climbing into his car.

"Where are we going?"

"If I told you that, it would spoil the surprise. Just trust me when I say you're going to like it." They drove the rest of the way, not in silence much to her surprise, engaging each other in conversation. She was ashamed to admit that she knew nothing about the boy she was with and she wanted to know everything he wanted to tell her.

He pulled up to a small club just outside of Hartford. "We're here," he got out first and stood to the side of her door, waiting for her to join him.

"Where are we?" she asked, but he shook his head in answer. She followed him as he headed to the door. She couldn't find any sign saying where they were, she passed a flier on her way in, advertising that "Tyne Meets Delta" would be playing that night. The flier didn't say what sort of music so she just followed Tristan in.

They sat in the middle of the club but off to one side. Behind her was the wall but she had an excellent view of the stage. He ordered coffee's for the two of them and told her that she'd enjoy it.

"But you won't tell me why we're here?"

"Just trust me when I say that I think you'll enjoy it," was his only response. The band started to play and Tristan was completely involved in the music. She imagined it was like when she was reading, he listened to the music and everything else in the world dissolved around him.

She recognized the song, it was a BB King classic and the band was doing a really great job in covering it.

If you only, only knew
Just how much I love you
Loving you the way I do
Then you'd take the night to love me too

I'd like the picture on the wall
So please don't let me fall
It's my heart I'm thinkin' of
So please, please accept my love

If you let me be your slave
Your love I'll cherish to my grave
And if you should die before I do
I'll, I said I'll, I'll end my life to be with you

Yes, I will!

She reached out, taking a hold of his hand. She wasn't entirely sure why she had done it, but she knew it felt right. After the band had finished playing he led her out and back to his car.

"That's my favourite place in the world to hang out. It's a totally different world in there."

"I understand. Blues does for you what reading does for me." She hopped into the car. When he was seated she turned and faced him. "Thank you for taking me tonight, Tristan."

The drive back to Stars Hollow was quiet, but it was a comfortable silence. They had said all they needed to and now they were simply enjoying each other's company. They pulled up to Rory's house and Tristan turned the car off. She asked if he wanted to come in for coffee and he said no, saying that there would always be another time.

He took her hand and raised it to his lips where he kissed her goodnight. "I'll call you... Goodnight Rory."
