Sing, goddess, the rage of Achilles the son of Peleus,

~Homer, The Iliad

They had only been married a short time but they were finally getting to take their honeymoon. "You're bringing the Iliad with us on our honeymoon?"

"I need something to read."

"You don't bring the Iliad for a little bit of light reading Rory, the Iliad is an epic. It will take you forever to read it, it's our honeymoon!" Their honeymoon had only started the day before. Logan thought Rory was joking when she said she was bringing along the Iliad, until he saw her pack it in her overnight bag. She claimed it was for the flight, seeing as how it was a good 18 hours before they arrived at their destination.

But then he saw her unpack it when they got to the hotel, he was about to lose the plot. "Rory, a honeymoon is for sex. Lots and lots of sex. The occasional sightseeing but generally it's about sex."

"I know you're frustrated Logan, but trust me. When I put this book down, you are not going to regret it."

"I'm going to be at the bar. When and if you decide to actually start enjoying the honeymoon. Let me know." With that, Logan left their hotel room.

As soon as he was clear, Rory picked up the phone. "He bought it, hook line and sinker. He thinks I'm reading the Iliad."

"You took the Iliad on your honeymoon?!" The screech caused Rory to pull the phone away from her ear.

"No. I took the Iliad cover with me, I bought the Karma Sutra with me on holiday." Rory laughed, wondering how much longer Logan would sit at the bar sulking. "He's gone down to the bar; he's sulking like a child who's just broken his favourite toy."

"You have to let the poor boy know. He's going to be drowning his sorrows and soon he'll be too drunk to try anything out."

"Yeah," Rory paused, thinking about her next plan of attack. "I better go. Who knows what he's going to be saying about me down there. Bye Mum, I love you." Rory took the Iliad book jacket off her book and placed it on her bedside table. She left the hotel room and made her way down to the bar.

She found Logan sitting on a barstool with a small glass of scotch in front of him. "If you come up to the hotel room, I'll show you something I've learned from reading my book."

"What could you have possibly read about in the Iliad that I'd be at least a little bit interested in seeing?"

"If you don't come up, you'll never know." Rory walked away from Logan, making her way back to their hotel room. She had always wanted to see New Zealand, but perhaps her honeymoon wasn't the best time to sight see.
