Prompt: #30 "A moment with you"
Warnings/Spoilers: none
Summary: It only takes one moment to make a decision.
Lex:
It is pathetic, I know.
It's pathetic to go to the Talon every day, just to hope he might be there. I'm a billionaire. A man with influence. People normally kill to spend an evening with me. Or - God forbid - even a whole night. Normally, women try to get into my pants faster than I can finish introducing myself. Normally, men are so fast on their knees, willing to suck me off, I usually don't even have to open my zipper by myself.
So why is it so different this time? Why am I sitting here nearly every afternoon, knowing his schedule by heart? Why am I waiting for just one little moment with Clark? Ah, and there he is. Now if I only could get this little Lang-girl to shut up for at least a minute.
Clark:
He's here. I don't have to go in to know that. My hearing is so attuned to his heartbeat that I can tell where he is even if he's a mile away.
I walk into the Talon with the delivery of my mom's pies and there he is. Sipping on his espresso, reading the newspaper, though Lana's trying to make small talk to him.
My heart speeds up, I can feel every single hair on my body stand at attention, and I don't have a single clue what to do.
I mean ... isn't it enough to be the local dork slash alien? Did the cosmic alien maker have to add a little gayness into the mix? Life just isn't fair.
And couldn't I fall for some ordinary guy next door who - in the worst case - might punch me in the nose or - in the best case - reciprocate my feelings? No! I, Clark Jerome Kent, adopted alien to the Smallville Kent's have to fall in love with Alexander Luthor, Smallville's resident billionaire. Slim like a cat, bald like Yul Brynner and sexy like hell.
I try not to stumble on my way over to the counter where Lana is trying to make a serious conversation with Lex. She can't hold up to him. He's too smart for her. And I realize I don't like her talking to him. It might seem strange but the spare time I have with Lex is precious.
So why must she destroy that one little moment that makes my day?
Lana:
I've seen a lot of strange behavior in my life. Hey, growing up in Smallville makes you almost a class A candidate for strange behavior. But this? Wow ... this is weird even for Smallville.
You see, there is Lex. He comes to the Talon everyday. At first I didn't know why but now I'm pretty sure it's just to see me. Isn't that sweet?
But ... there is also Clark.
He *also* comes in everyday. Sometimes to deliver his mom's pies, sometimes to bring me something I asked him to buy. But he's always there. I know that he wants me. He told me so. On numerous occasions. Okay, lately not so much but I know that his feelings toward me haven't changed.
The strange behavior I've been talking about is the way they interact with each other. They barely look at each other, talk only in little mumbled sentences, and when the accidentally touch each other they drew back so quickly as if they got burnt.
I know that sooner or later I might have to choose between them. And it is so hard. So right now I try to avoid an open confrontation between them. Talking to Lex to keep him occupied while Clark is busy stowing away the goods helps sometimes.
But I wonder why they both look at *me* so ... strange sometimes. It's just for one moment but I'm sure that I didn’t imagine it.
Well ... I guess they're just jealous of each other.
Chloe:
Holy flying cow!!!
How come I never noticed it before?
Here I am ... sitting in the Talon, drinking my favorite Latte Frappuccino, watching Lex flirt with Lana when ... BAM ... Clark walks in!
And God help me I swear it on everything dear to me ... it's a miracle Lex doesn't start drooling the moment my farmboy walks through the door.
How could I've been so blind? But as I watch those two it gets even better. Clark is looking at Lex and if there's one thing Clark *never* was good at ... it's at keeping secrets. He wants Lex the same way our local 'enfant terrible' wants him.
Poor Lana. She doesn't stand a chance this time. It seems that Clark finally has managed to get over her. And though I have to admit that I'm really sorry that it's not me he's swooning over ... seeing him with Lex is definitely hot.
Hmmm ... I wonder if they would let me watch some time ... just a little sneak peak ... just one moment ...
Pete:
Gosh, it's so sick.
I mean ... come on ... that Luthor guy? Don't get me wrong ... I'm not a homophobe. 'Cause ... hey, I like girls and all, and whatever floats your boat, man. It's just ... Clark could do *so much* better. Hell, even Whitney would be better. But I guess Love *is* blind after all, right?
I see them coming out of the Talon together. They're not exactly holding hands but they're far too close together for mere friendship.
How come nobody sees it? Now they're getting into Lex's car. Clark is driving. Whoa ... that would give Mr. Kent many a sleepless nights if he'd ever find out. But I won't tell him. Clark's my friend. And even if I don't quite get this whole Luthor-is-my-soul mate thing ... I try to be there for him. To help him.
I watch as the car takes off with screeching tires, and for a moment I can't hold back my grin. Yup ... Clark really loves to drive fast.
Enrique:
Of course I know about my Master's relationship with young Mr. Kent. One moment in their presence told me all there is to know. And of course I will not tell anything.
The staff talks. They always talk. And I listen. I listen to them. I listen to Master Lex. And I really like to listen to young Master Kent.
He is ... different. Different than anyone else Master Lex ever brought home.
There is this aura of honesty surrounding him that I find rather refreshing. At least compared to Master Lex's other liaisons.
I can read all of his emotions in young Master Kent's face. It is there for everyone to see. For everyone who bothers to look. Look closely. The fact that he loves Master Lex.
It is in all those little gestures. In the way he looks at Master Lex. In the way he touches him way too often to be casual. In the way he moves right into his personal space. And in the way Master Lex does not object.
On the contrary.
Sometimes he even seems to encourage it. I do not want to spread gossip but today I walked in on them. I was carrying the snacks Master Lex ordered and stepped in when there was no reply after my knocking.
They were kissing. Deep. Passionate. Loving. With Master Lex's hands disappearing underneath young Mr Kent's shirt.
The young Master blushed. It was amusing. Touching. And endearing in a way. But Master Lex was acting as if nothing had happened. I put the tray down where he told me to, and left.
The staff was ... I guess you call it 'grilling' me, for information but of course I said nothing.
I just smiled.
And remained silent.

Panting, Clark broke down over Lex, kissing every patch of skin he could reach. "Love you love you love you love you," he mumbled incoherently, listening to Lex's wildly beating heart.
Pressing open mouthed kisses on Lex's bare back, he slowly moved away, gliding down Lex's body until he was laying next to him.
With a smile, Lex turned around, pressing himself close to his lover, kissing him deeply. "Love you, too, farmboy," he murmured with a gentle teasing in his voice.
Clark's eyes were sparkling, and once more Lex congratulated himself for the idea to let Clark drive the new Lamborghini home from the Talon. He had been able to sense the barely concealed yearning in the younger man's eyes, and without thinking twice about it he had tossed him the key.
Which had led to the first kiss in his office because somehow driving a real fast car always seemed to excite Clark. A kiss that had been interrupted by Enrique who had brought the snacks Lex had ordered for his seemingly always hungry farmboy. That had led to hot, unabashed sex first in the office and then later in Lex's bedroom.
Now they were laying next to each other. Or more: wrapped around each other. And Lex thought back to that one moment where he suddenly had seen everything in perfect clarity: the moment when they had stepped out of the Talon. Clark's eyes on him with a mixture of love, desperation, hunger and yearning. His body a little too close to be called just-friendly. Every emotion open on his face.
It was that moment that Lex finally decided to take his chances. He had waited until Clark had driven them home, had taken him up into his office, and before the beautiful man at his side could say something, he had taken him in his arms and had kissed him senseless, murmuring happy nonsense when he felt Clark kiss him back.
He stretched a little, feeling a pleasant lassitude in his bones. Lex knew that it was too early to simply just stay in bed but having Clark so warm and willing in his arms could certainly change his mind. He could feel Clark's big hands stroking him. Hands that were so soft despite all the hard work he had to do every day on the farm. He grabbed one of those hands, moved it up to his mouth and kissed every finger.
Clark purred like a big cat. Then he moved closer, and pressed a gentle kiss to Lex's mouth. "That was amazing," he murmured. "I never thought ..."
He interrupted himself, blushing slightly, and Lex raised his head, curious now. "You never thought ... what, Clark?"
A little embarrassed, Clark turned his head away, mumbling in the pillow, "Never thought sex would be like that."
A virgin. Lex swallowed. And swallowed again. He managed to keep his almost hysterical laughter inside for he could only guess what it must have cost Clark to tell him this. So he just leaned forward, and pressed a tender kiss to the shoulder closest to him. "I love you, Clark," he whispered.
Clark slowly turned his head around, and the moment his blinding Trademark smile hit him, Lex knew that this time he was in for the long haul.
And boy, was he glad about it.
