Oh my, indeed. To lose a wand that has been to hell with him and back is tragic.

And I wonder why Dumbledore didn't make it in time. No doubt some ploy of Fudge to side track him.

You got so much backstory into your story - I'm impressed.

Thank you very much. I feared I had more back story than actual story, though.
Yes, quite possibly Fudge had something to do with Dumbledore not being there. He's always tried to get him out of the way as much as possible, and such a minor thing as the winning a war against Voldemort wouldn't really change that for him. ;-)

Oh, that was very nasty. The wands of witches and wizards do seem to be extensions of themselves, don't they? Since their magic, while flowing out of themselves, can't usually reach its true potential without the wand, its destruction is a very personal blow. That Fudge would do that seems very much in character with the pettiness he's shown at other times.

Thank you. The idea really came while writing. I had planned to have Snape's wand get officially broken as part of his sentence. But then I wrote so much Fudge it ended up this way.

I figure there are a lot of ironic things going to happen once the war is over. People like Fudge will always land on their feet, and they'll always try to take revenge on people they hate.

Oh, that was good. Just so painful to read about a wand being broken! But I like that Snape has confidence that the Gryffindors will get him out!

Thank you. I do hope that Snape, at some point during teh war, will come to realise he doesn't have to do it all on his own. WOuld be good for him.

Oh how tragic! Poor Snape...you know he wouldn't want sympathy but you can't help feeling bad for him. You can just see Fudge gloating, you know?
