Summary: A snow storm kicks out Gibbs' heating system and he and Abby are left with only a blanket.
The heater sputtered and finally gave a whine of protest before giving up. All of the heat stopped moving and began fluttering out of the ceiling. A spooky groan came as the house shifted in the changing drafts and winds. Gibbs kicked the heater as if he would obey commands as well as Abby, but Gibbs never had luck with even simple technology.
Gibbs walked back into his living room and shut the door to the attic. Abby sat shivering on his couch staring at the movie playing on his ancient television set. A flickered zapped at the television and that too shut off along with all of the electricity. Gibbs chuckled and frigidly walked across the room. He fumbled in his drawer to find a box of matches and a few candles. He struck the match against the striker on the side of the box and a flame danced onto the red tip of the match. Gibbs touched it to the candle and the fire danced gracefully from the match to each candle. He blew out the match and trashed it.
The candles were set on the windowsills and were illuminating the space. Gibbs sat down next to Abby and put his arm around her.
"Okay, Abs?" He said, putting his thumb to her chin so he could see her eyes.
"Y-yeah, Gibbs." She said through chattering teeth.
"Tony told me that Eskimos huddled for warmth." Gibbs said with a grin thinking of the story Kate told him.
"Yeah?" Abby said as she curled into him and pulled the blanket up over them.
"He also said it's improved if you're naked." He said as he reached under her shirt and twisted her shirt up over her head, showing her black lace bra.
"I remember that bra from somewhere." Gibbs said through a laugh.
"Yeah the on you used to tie me up with that one night you lending ducky your rope." Abby said with a giggled as she hesitantly reached out and undid his buttoned shirt.
"See, I knew it had some meaning." He said as he helped her frozen hands undo his shirt.
They both snuggled shirtless under the blanket as they threw their shirts to the floor.
"Maybe Tony doesn't have that bad of pick-up lines." Abby said giggling.
"Yeah, well, my father would say those were dime-a-dozen." Gibbs replied.
