The exhilarating thrill of first love. He had never thought it to be this sweet, mesmerizing even. He had read about this. Hell, he had even studied this. This eternal link.
A loose string of scattered kisses and whispered promises. He had never in his wildest dreams dreamt that there would be someone who had this much of a hold over him. The melding of two souls into one during a fierce passion which he one day knew would engulf them both whole.
He yearned for it. The fear present in him was a defensive wall. A wall that was there to preserve his mortality. This great, innocent feeling of a rush like something neither of them had ever experienced.
The sad fact was that he knew he would one day wake up to the absence of the tell tale warmth on his side. The absence of a higher temperature than was normally found on his bed. He knew this for a fact.
After all, nothing could barely hope to last forever.
