Zoro felt him coming before he even heard the tread of shoes on the deck, the undeniable pissed off feeling radiating from the cook bringing him out of his nap and setting his skin to tingling with wariness.
The footsteps stopped beside him, the cook’s lanky form blocking the sun Zoro had been napping in and leaving him feeling suddenly chilly.
“What. The hell. Is this,” Sanji demanded, voice tight and controlled. The swordsman inwardly sighed, knowing he wasn’t getting back to sleep until whatever had the cook in a snit had been dealt with.
Zoro cracked one eye open and was met with the sight of a wanted poster held in a white-knuckle grip, the paper crinkled where Sanji’s fingers dug into it. With a huff the swordsman closed his eyes again. “It’s a Wanted poster, Aho-Cook. I would have thought even you were smart enough to figure that out.” He opened his eyes again, taking in the number. “Your bounty went up. Good for you.”
Pissed off suddenly skyrocketed to boiling rage and Zoro barely had time to brace himself before Sanji’s kick could shatter his ribcage.
“I MEANT THE PICTURE, SHIT FOR BRAINS!”
Zoro was on his feet in a second, swords crossed in front of him defensively, Sanji’s foot pressing them back. Shit, the Cook was serious.
“What about it? I thought you wanted a picture.”
“Not that one! What will the ladies think?!” Sanji demanded, swinging his leg in a vicious kick Zoro barely managed to block.
“Probably nothing that isn’t true.”
The noise that Sanji released in response to that was really something to hear, and Zoro added it to his mental list of favorites, right under to that half gasp, half moaning noise the cook made when Zoro grabbed his ass. As he gave up guarding in favor of dodging - the blows were really coming hard now - he made a mental note to stick his tongue down Sanji’s throat in front of marine photographers as often as possible in the future.
