Yeah...I always feel bad for them. Actually, I find the timeline a bit weird now...it's like Yasopp left, and then came back and had Usopp? Or was Banchina pregnant when he left and he never even saw Usopp? (But then he shouldn't know he had a son...) Either way, I still think he's awful for leaving them!!! Even though he's cool too...argh, I can't decide what to think about Yasopp :-P

Well, maybe they were traveling together and Yasopp met Banchina, and so he left the crew, thinking he wanted to be a family man, and then later he felt the call of the sea, and Shanks came by again and he joined up again. From the way he talks about him to Luffy, I'm betting that he was at least with Usopp for a year or so...

Interesting. I never thought of Banchina not being from the island Usopp grew up on! He does sound like he was a father for some time. I hope Oda gets round to dealing with Usopp/Yasopp issues sometime. Eh, I'm pretty sure he will.

Well, Shanks and Luffy will meet again (sometime when Luffy's not comatose), so I'm sure they will. It's honestly one of the BIG THINGS that are going to happen (hopefully) that I'm REALLY looking forward to. I mean, what will Yasopp think of his son? What will Usopp think of his father? Does Yasopp know if Banchina's dead, and will Usopp have to be the one to tell him? I MUST KNOW!!!

That would also make it ever so slightly more palatable...that Banchina already knew he was a pirate and would take off at any time and married him and had Usopp anyway, rather than him running out on them randomly. Excuse me, I'm going to go re-read the Usopp intro manga sequence now... :-)

I'm (veeeery slowly) rereading OP from the beginning, and I'm in Syrup right now, so it's fresher on my mind. But yeah, I like thinking that she knew what she was getting into. Though I still wonder if she was ever resentful of Yasopp for leaving her...
