Rubedo dreams in red. Red sunsets. Red poisoned apples. Red bandanas on the heads of pirates. Sometimes he dreams of a different red, the red of blood, of red energy tearing worlds apart, and that’s when he turns to his books to bury the real beneath words.
Sometimes he dreams in green, soothing green, depthless green. These are the times Gaignun’s calm is fractured.
And sometimes he dreams in purple. Alien purple. Maddening purple. These are rare dreams, echoes; they make sleep unsatisfying, lingering afterward like a taste on his lips.
Sometimes he would prefer not to dream at all.
