"You know, Cecil," said Rosa, "I can tell you've wanted to take this step for a long time."

"How?" asked the paladin. "Is there a white magic spell that allows mind reading?"

Rosa chuckled. "No, but it would be nice if there was one. That way, I'd be able to know what you think about when you sleep."

"I see." Cecil held Rosa's hand tightly and guided her to the port side railing of Cid's airship. From ten thousand feet, they could just barely see Edge practicing his ninjutsu atop a newly-rebuilt Eblan Castle. While they could see the flares from their position, they didn't have anything on hand to signal back to him.

"It does feel good to work for the benefit of all of the people," said Cecil, "rather than just fulfilling the wishes of one kingdom. Even as we travel the world to see new things, I wonder how well the people of Baron will do in our absence."

"You need not worry. Many of them think you're doing a fine job. In fact, I'm beginning to grow fond of your new paladin persona myself. It's a lot easier to kiss someone when they're not hiding behind a mask."
